CAT6 for the win! for cables and connections

This was just what we needed to run ethernet nodes in our new home. The only downside is that if you don't need 1000ft, you have no other choice. I wish they had a smaller option for working from home. It is also not recommended to use Cat6 plugs with them as they will not fit. Cat5 or Cat7 strangely work.

Thick Strong Correct Cable

This material is expensive for a reason. It's thick and really well made. It's significantly thicker than any CAT5E or CaT6 I've bought from a big store because the shell is thicker and the chamber is thicker. This also makes it less flexible, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The build quality of the box is also nice. All round high quality product.

Cons
  • Easily Torn

Quality Goods - Cables & Interconnects

I've wired my whole house with Category 6 shielded vertical cable and it's amazing. Because it's shielded, its thickness is the same as an RG6 quad shield cable. It's definitely worth the extra money to get a screen when you're dragging this stuff through walls and all kinds of rooms. The length is marked on the cable so you know how much is left in the box which is a huge bonus as I was constantly worried about running out of cable.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

This cable is much better than CAT 5e

This cable is much better than CAT 5e. Because the cable is thicker (heavier), it is designed to carry more data over longer distances. I have used it in my house to improve communication and it has worked great. The only downside to this product is that it's a bit more difficult to attach the connectors to the ends of the cable. But the cable is worth the effort.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • No paint required

Great cable but buy the right RJ-45

I managed to get my house through the attic. I'd say this bad boy is fat, so it's a little awkward for my inexperienced fingers to plug into my RJ 45, but here are the tools I used to make some network cables. I used about 100 feet of wire to go the longest stretch of my house. You could buy about 600 feet instead of 1000 but oh well. The house is approximately 2200 square meters one floor. Hope this information helps, and have fun! It's definitely a quality product (check out the speed tests…

Great product but make sure you get the right amount of cables

It's amazing how easy it is to overestimate the number of cables you need. I ordered this because I couldn't find any smaller casters (only 300ft needed). However, the day after arrival I found a 250ft box of the same, so I figured I'd return that and buy a smaller one (less waste and a lot less cost). Well, the return policy isn't like most Revains. products, and the return cost was almost $90. This makes the smaller box have the same value (or close enough to not matter) after the offset…

Good value for money Cat 6 cable

For what I paid for a 1000ft box, a hell of a deal. I've just installed a couple of Cisco Airnet 1852 POEs over the last few days, this cable pulled out of the box very well and was a good heavy duty shielded cable. A note: pay attention to the cable size. This is a 7.3mm O.D. cable and regular plugs will not work if they are the standard size. I used some of the shielded connectors I got from Revain for another project here at work a few years ago and they worked great with the right crimping…
