Works perfectly. But suspension links not possible

I mounted this using a conventional chain tool instead of the suspension link provided - it was very difficult and I was afraid it would not work under load. But now it works great. For the same drive, it is worth buying the Shimano brand. Other wannabes I tried failed and were incurable

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons

It's a Shimano chain!

As the title suggests, this is a Shimano chain. The amount of detail they put into everything is a benchmark in cycling. Replaced a rusty chain on my lady's bike after a long trip to the beach. Very easy with the new Master Link and Link Tool (tool sold separately but if you work on your own bikes you probably already have one of these).

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

A quick link doesn't hold at all!

The chain is easy to assemble if you follow the instructions. The chain shifts quickly and quietly, but the fast link is weak. I've ridden less than 250 miles without chain tension and the part of the quick release that contains the pins has broken (see picture). If you purchase this chain, make sure you have a compatible spare quick link and chain link pliers when you ride. My one star rating is for durability only!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • A newer model could have been selected

As the title says, I bought this chain for my Cannondale H400 which has a 24 speed Shimano HyperGlide drivetrain with Deore rear derailleur and Alivio front derailleur. This is most likely the same chain that came with the bike 20 years ago and I have no reason to believe it will not perform or hold up as I expected. I ride my bike almost every day and it usually takes me a year or less to get 1500-2000 miles on the chain, after which I swap out my chains to extend the life of my sprockets. I…
