The pedals are ok but the cleats are of poor quality

Nothing special about the pedals but the cleats that came with it made me think this isn't an Amazon deal and not real Shimano. My only spike broke on my first ride.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Other

Ideal for peleton.

I bought this as an alternative to SPD for my Peloton and I am very satisfied! Very easy to assemble and adjust if necessary. They're not lightweight (like my Dura-ace on my road bike), but they work great with an exercise bike. Would buy again!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons

float defective? - Pedals and Cleats

After looking for a clip-on pedal set, I settled on Shimano PD-RS500. Installed the pedals at a local bike shop. Came home, attached spikes to my SIDI Mega, walked to my bike which was 15 feet from me. and the yellow float just fell apart! Disappointed with the product especially as I was preparing for a trip on Monday. Ray, I'm coming.

Pros
  • Cool Product
Cons
  • New Competitors

Good price SPD SL pedals and cleats

I've been looking for Shimano Ultegra pedals and they seem to be $120+ without cleats in most places. I found some chipped ones and used them locally for $60. They look good and come with boots. They work just as well as my Ultegra SPD SL pedals. They might weigh a bit more, but I'm not a professional racer so I don't think a few grams will make much of a difference. This was the best SPD SL pedal deal I could find including browsing used ones.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Quality

Great pedals for the price

I have no idea why other pedals cost a little more than these but these are perfect for me. Initially I tried a pedal that uses a 2-hole bolt. and I just hated crashing into them, always an annoyance. I decided to try these and I really like them. I might accidentally insert a clip, it's that simple! The larger 3-bolt spikes also fit my feet much better while I was getting hot spots from a different style.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Useless features

No complaints. - Pedals

Bought these for my new road bike. Their first use was something like psychological adaptation. I paired them with Pearl Izumi road boots. I've watched several videos on how to properly measure the foot and shoes to install spikes. I know I wonder what other spike options might look like. I believe there are two other options that reduce lateral movement. (Blue and Red.) After a quick 11 mile ride, I'm very happy with the results. I kinda kick myself for not buying them for my commuter bikeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Great product, easy installation

I opened the box and installed these pedals before I even thought about how I did it. Two weeks later I am writing a review asking what tools I used and how easy/difficult it was to install them. How it's supposed to work. In terms of performance, like most clip-on pedals, it takes some getting used to getting in and out. I haven't crashed yet and don't think I ever will as I have adjusted the pedal to release easily.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Operating speed

Perfect fit for Peloton

I bought these to use with our new Peloton bike. Unfortunately, Peloton has seen fit to ship all of their bikes with LOOK system clips. I know this is pretty normal for personal studios, but it would force us to invest in new shoes that cost over $100 each. Since we already have clips for cycling, we decided to go the economical route and bought Shimano pedals instead of Peloton. They installed without any problems (of course!) and worked well for a few weeks with sessions several times a week.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide
