Great clipless pedal for beginners

I've only ever used clipless pedals on indoor cycling classes (if you can get shoes there), but since I've been riding my road bike more often and using it in triathlons, I've got these pedals and a Pair of SPD compliant cycling shoes. I liked that they included a pair of boots and that one side is a platform in case you decide to wear regular shoes. I've noticed a HUGE difference in my fit and performance since adding these pedals to my road bike and it only took me one ride to attach the…

Easy release, smooth ride, but after a few rides there's an annoying click.

This is the second set I have ordered for my wife in the last 90 days. He likes their easy removal and the fact that they are reversible with a rubber base so he can pedal without pinching. The problem it had (and because of this I returned the first set) is that after a few rides the pedals start to get annoying when cycling. Each turn of the pedal is a "click-click" - maybe that's why they're called "click-R" - but it's really annoying. Apparently they have a good reputation on this matter…

Great, especially first time with clipless pedals

I used these pedals on my city bike to learn how to switch from toe cage to clipless. They worked great! I got a lot of trust from them. Putting them on the lightest setting will feel like your show is being pulled in by a powerful magnet. You can easily remove your foot at any time, even if you forgot to turn your foot properly. However, you are liable if you need them. In the first few weeks I sometimes got into situations and forgot. However, as if by magic, my foot would come out of a tight

I've used them on every one of my bikes.

These are my favorite pedals. I have installed them on each of my bikes. One side of each pedal is flat so you can use regular shoes. On the other side there are clips for cycling shoes. I didn't install the pedals, but the guy at the bike shop was able to do that in just a few minutes. The pedals come with a set of spikes for cycling shoes. Each pedal has a small screw that can be turned to tighten or loosen the clamps, making it easier or harder to loosen the pedals. I like them set very…

Easy to use, great pedals for the first time

Always wanted to try pedals without clips but am not a serious cyclist. Received these with a pair of cycling shoes and was impressed with how easy they are to put on and take off. They are simpler than a tight cage and strap combo. You literally just press your foot down on the pedal like you would anyway, then twist your foot to release it. Even the first time I tried them, I got stuck without even trying. I figured it would take a few days to feel comfortable - no. Easy. The shoes I brought…

Great pedals for clipless and clipless riding

My wife and I are avid cyclists and have been using SPD-SL road cleats for a number of years. We haven't ridden that much and decided to replace the Shimano SPD pedals again for more comfort. Love the functionality of being able to click and use the flat side of the pedal. I bought a set for my wife and wanted to use an old pair I had at home. During testing, I found that the flat side of the pedal had more surface area for more efficient pedaling than the other pair I had, so I bought another…

Great compromise pedal for riders and beginners

I'm in my 60's and have been cycling most of my life. I tried SPD pedals about 15 years ago but in the urban environment where I live , I had some problems. So I went back to regular pedals and/or toe clips. But then I read about Shimano Click'R pedals designed for clip-on beginners and riders who ride in crowded areas. So I tried these and was really impressed with them. The cycling shoes I have use recessed cleats so I can run without ripping up the ground and still get an edge when I want…

Perfect for a five mile commute - quick release, don't fall off yet!

Having used either open clips or plain old fashioned clipless pedals my whole life, I thought it was time to switch to clipless commuting (5 miles one way). I wanted something compatible with SPD shoes as I wanted to make it easier to walk on either side. When I first started using clips I figured these Shimano Clickr pedals would be a good first step. So far I've found them to be easy to trim with a slight twist of the ankle. I'm not afraid to stop at a red light because I know I can always…

They work amazingly well - just as advertised. Couldn't be happier!

Almost a year ago, at the age of 71, I started road cycling and loved it! Last season I rode 2300 miles, rode my first century - and nobody could be more surprised by all of this than me. But for understandable reasons, safety (especially the freedom from falls!) is very important to me. So the thought of being strapped in was a little unsettling, so I decided to stick with flat pedals. Then I heard about the Shimano Click'R system. I was fascinated but still scared that I wouldn't be able to…
