🚵 SHIMANO SH-GR9: The Ultimate Mountain Bike Shoes for Men Review

I was very skeptical about specific mountain bike shoes but I think they are great and worth every penny! Rigid outsole is ideal for long rides! And I think they give the right support, you can swing your legs where you want without having to lift them up. I will say I haven't ridden since 5.10 but I'm very happy with how my feet stay in place during my rides. My feet feel comfortable on long journeys and also when hiking by bike.

Just bought a pair to complement my Specialized 2FO Flats which are starting to wear out. I wear size 11 and ordered size 46 which fits well. The shoes are heavier than Specialized shoes, but the sole is stiffer. They are also asymmetrical with better ankle protection. I like the big flap that covers the laces. I bought Shimano shoes along with Shimano Saint m828 flat pedals for my gravel bike. The price is the same as Specialized. Durability I don't know, they are new.

I'm ready to switch to flat pedals and Shimano cycling shoes always fit me. I was thrilled when I received them because they fit perfectly. They were well made and well tailored, with enough room to use a chemical foot warmer in them on those cold winter rides. But I was very disappointed with their grip, or rather the lack of it. I can only compare them to the Five-Ten, which have excellent grip, but my foot immediately fell off the pedal in the Shimao shoes, so unfortunately I had to return…

So I've ridden in these shoes once so can't comment on their durability but they are very light and very comfortable. I really like the look and it's nice to get on and off without fumbling with the laces. I've ridden 5 hours on Shimano Saint pedals (2019 models with short pins) and the shoes are not wearing out. also seems to work to find when you go.
