🚴 Rapid Release Shimano Ultegra 6800 Road Bike Series Review

This is a nice front quick release. Nothing to say except that it has Shimano/Ultegra branding. Got the kit after TSA managed to bend the QR skewers (sort of) around the hubs on the wheels I flew.

It was a great price for this skewer. I put it on my mountain bike and it holds up much more securely than the previous one I had. This design is far superior to the more common design which is not closed.

Shimano Ultegra 6800 quick release (100mm spacing, 133mm overall length) fits perfectly on the front wheel of my 2020 Cannondale Trail 6 mountain bike. This is a safe replacement for a lower quality original Shimano skewer that has had the end screw cap fall apart after a few months of riding. I am very happy with this replacement skewer from 365 Cycles.

You'll never have to worry about your front skewer coming loose and letting go of a wheel mid-ride, which you don't have with a skewer. I made the mistake of buying a cheap front skewer to replace a worn one on my mountain bike and it started to fall off on the first use. I quickly switched to Ultegra after reading a few reviews online and haven't had any issues since.

I had to replace the front skewer on my Colnago Lux Dream as the transmission unit on my Mavic skewer had failed. I have studied numerous offers of cheaper and more expensive devices. The front and back pairs were the most common and I didn't need both. In addition, many reviews of other items indicated breakage or lack of holding power. But what can go wrong with Shimano Ultegra? He arrived Thursday evening, installed it that same night, and drove 62 faultless miles on Friday and Saturday.

The skewers on the bike were not very good. I had issues with my front wheel being misaligned - so much so that I destroyed the sealed bearing. After the shop fixed it, I still had the problem of the wheel not being properly aligned and requiring the skewer to be overtightened to stop the wheel play. I fixed the bug by removing the skewer from another bike, tried it on the problem bike and found it completely solved the problem. So I bought this Ultegra QR and it works great.
