Good mouthguard, fits a mouthguard

If your child has braces, they need them. I bought this product last year and it lasted all season, it will probably work well this year but my son has a habit of chewing it while it's in his mouth.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Protection

Comfortable and attractive

I think it's all brand. The mouthpiece is not that strong. It tore in two the part of the teeth where your teeth grind against the front of the guard. I think it was convenient but not reliable. Not suitable for teenagers who constantly chew mouthpieces like gum.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Absolutely worth it!

I thought any mouth guard I buy for my boy would be fine. Wrong full clown move. These are the only ones he's been comfortable with since he has braces. The belt/leash/tie goes well with lacrosse and football helmets. Don't be a clown like me, light it up for your special little girl or jock boy!

Perfect for soccer players with braces!

I used to buy Shock Doctor mouthpieces for my kids and was very happy with the level of protection at a very reasonable price. There has been a lot of talk in the press about football and concussions lately and while the evidence that mouthpieces can prevent concussions is inconclusive, no one seems to mind that the extra protection they offer has value. To give a child a quality mouthpiece, you only need to spend a few dollars. My oldest son played soccer in college and every year they made a…

Ideal for braces with expanders

My son also has an expander-like brace. I was wondering if this mouthguard would work with both and it does. The son is very happy and likes that he doesn't have to "sculpt". Since he's a martial artist, I cut off the front clasp that goes to the strap. With ordinary scissors this wasn't difficult, the plastic is very soft (in a good way).

Pros
  • CONSTRUCTION: Made from high quality medical grade silicone - protective and comfortable, no rough edges or materials to irritate - NO LATEX, BPA, Phthalates
Cons
  • Requires a socket

Works well, no need to cook.

Bought this for my 14 year old son who plays lacrosse. He wears upper and lower braces. Kappa doesn't need to be cooked like most others to make it fit. It is ready to use. Not only is it handy, but it's great to have a spare in your pocket as it's always ready to go if something goes wrong. He can still communicate well while wearing it and it doesn't stop him from breathing. He claims it's comfortable and, while it only covers the top teeth, offers excellent protection.

Pros
  • Made in USA
Cons
  • Expensive

Great for Palate Expanders

My son plays lacrosse and recently had a palate expander installed. I didn't want to put his mouthguard on before every workout since we flip his expander, so I bought this Shock Doctor Adult Braces mouthguard to try. This worked really well as his mouth expands. Advantages: Suitable for a palatal expander and brackets of braces. It is not installed, so there is no need to reinstall the mouthguard if the teeth move. My son finds it useful. Cons: This mouthguard is made from a soft material and…
