Experienced woodworker

I have used a Craftsman jointer for 40 years and it was time for an upgrade. My wife found the best deal on Best Buy on the jointer I wanted, the shop fox 1745.It arrived as scheduled. I had a friend help me because of the weight. I carefully read the directions (older and wiser now) and we assembled the unit. The manual that came with it was easy to follow, it was actually very impressively written. It is easy to adjust the knives, as it gives you two options. You can use the springs or…

very nice jointer in my review

This is my first brand new jointer. I had no rust on mine when it arrived. It was packaged nicely with lots of grease. After a couple hours cleaning and assembling it looks great. I ran about 20 board feet of 4/4 cherry today after finishing the setup. It left an outstanding cut on the face and edge of each board. Thus is my second shop fox machine and I am impressed again. My only complaint would be the same as one other review/ the power switch tower is packaged inside the base with the…
