Disappointing Performance of Glass Drill

Through trial and error, I found that this drill bit was unable to handle even the slightest pressure, shattering the glass easily. The bit became dull quickly, making it difficult to achieve clean, precise cuts.

Pros
  • Pro: None
Cons
  • Inadequate durability, unable to handle pressure.

Cut Porcelain Tiles Effortlessly

I drilled a few holes in 3/8 inch porcelain stoneware using a 1/4 inch drill bit. It worked great. These blades claim to be dry useable but I think they perform more efficiently and last much longer when used wet. I simply used an empty water bottle, poked a small hole in the cap after refilling it, wrapped a towel around the work area to soak up all the water, and drilled at low speed while the helper sprayed the water. The system works great. Protecting drill bits from overheating while…

Pros
  • Wax the drill bit to cool it down so you can drill holes without water. Water can be used as additional cooling to extend bit life.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good quality for power tools and hand tools

These are good quality drill bits. I've used them on ceramic tiles and they went through easily. They don't have a center guide, however, so you'll need to start at a slight angle and "swing" into the cut so you end up with a hole that's not entirely level - there's a slight edge where to start. . No problem if the hole is eventually closed. It should get better with practice, but they are quite difficult to use at first. The larger one appeared to be self-lubricating, which is good because it…
