SHURFLO 183 029 14 Pressure Reducing Chrome Review

As expected this product is a direct replacement for the Airstream inlet water pressure regulator (and I believe there are others) but be aware that this is the case does not come with a flange gasket to seal the trailer body, so you will need to carefully remove the original gasket to re-use. My original Shurflo lasted 4 years before leaking.

Works, exact replacement for the original unit. I will continue to use them until I find a replacement for the brass/stainless steel components. This device has a built-in pressure limiter and non-return valve, but all important parts are made of plastic and are sensitive to vibration and low temperatures. Since this is an exact replacement from the manufacturer, all holes match!

Fit is good but built in pressure regulator is not good at all. I installed it on a houseboat but still had pressure issues, leaking fittings etc. Bought a built in pressure gauge and found 110psi even though a 65psi limiter was advertised. If you only need this item for the faucet, that's fine, but you need another way to regulate the water pressure. FALSE ADVERTISING!

Was replaced with the one on the boat, the ring securing the hose was torn off. When removing the old one and installing the new one, I found that the fitting on the existing one had snapped. Since the boats don't come with a lot of extra hoses I had to use couplers, clamps etc. There is a fitting included, but it's a 90° connection! I have no idea why they couldn't give you direct affection. Looks a lot better. Even though it's plastic.

Perfect replacement for the 38 year old original ShurFlo part on my '78 SportsCoach that just started leaking last spring (2016). We replaced the pressure regulator/preventive fill on this motorhome because the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) installed it on rigid plumbing, which the installation instructions clearly do NOT recommend. Consequently, the original unit leaked when the plastic portion of the regulator broke due to constant vibration from the RV's internal water pump. What we liked was that the new replacement regulator matched exactly what we were replacing. The holes for the mounting screws matched our
