Looks and performs the same as the Volvo OEM brand

Looks and performs the same as the Volvo OEM brand. Perfect fit for my DP-SM Volvo Penta Outdrive. Very happy with the results. would recommend. Tip: put it in the freezer before installing it and get the Volvo Bearing Installer.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Looks good, price was right

This gimbal fits perfectly in my 1998 VP Cobra-SX Outdrive. Looks good, price was right, but every now and then I hear a little noise that leads me to believe it's not fully lubricated, even though I poured a ton of lube in it and put it in perfectly to make sure the lube hole lines up with the hole. camp is perfect. Maybe new enough./shrugs.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Operating speed

If you don't want to buy OEM, choose Sierra products.

I bought this gimbal for my 1998 Crownline Alpha One front wheel drive. The bearing is as described and fits perfectly. No more noise from the drive as I had hoped. Sierra products are a great alternative to Mercruiser/Quicksilver. Nothing beats OEM, but I have great confidence in the Sierra brand.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

They sent me a sealed camp.

My boat mechanic installed this part number a few years ago and it was the greased version - hole in the side and all. This time I replaced my own gimbal and this new one was sealed. There was a hole on the side of the bearing and I lined it up with the oil hole on the output gear just because I have OCD like that. in any case, the new one is sealed and not lubricated. not that I would be against it. It might work in my favor if water gets in there.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
