Over the years I have replaced several fuel separators (aluminum) due to corrosion in the marine environment. I was about to replace another one when I came across this stainless steel model. Appears to be one piece, very solid casting. It's too early to tell how this SS class will hold up in salt water, but it replaced a painted die-cast aluminum bracket that rusted terribly. It looks and seals much better than its aluminum predecessor and hasn't corroded yet. Edit: 4 years later and virtually no corrosion. Three years ago I converted my Cape Horn 17 to a four stroke. The installer suggested adding a fuel water filter to solve some of the problems that ethanol fuel causes for four-stroke engines. The filter is external, installed in the fuel line just before the engine, not internal. Despite the filter, I had some problems last year.
