I've tried many hard drive enclosures and I think this is the best option to protect your hard drive. It is stuffed very generously and the disc does not slide in. I haven't tested any of my drives for drops (!), but they have withstood the knocks and bumps of the daily commute from home to the office. The only downside is that the case is a bit larger than others, but that's a small price to pay for security. Highly recommended!

For $6.99 I wasn't expecting pro quality but I feel like I got it. Although not many IDE drives are used these days; Some people come across many laptops and other items that cannot be repaired, but the drives are still fine. Not only is this a great protection (giving a firm grip around your disc), but it's also a good place to place the disc so that it's protected due to the Star's rubber/foam-like substance used to protect it , cannot slip. I had two of these drives before and used one to ship a portable hard drive to someone in Iraq and it arrived and worked well. I just bought 2 more as I have 3-4 different hard drives that I slide in and out of the hard drive dock and I use these cases to store them when not in use. I also use one with a foam insert to store my WD 1TB Passport portable drive that I carry with me for my laptop. It's a bit bulky, but it still fits in my laptop bag and I'm not worried about damaging the drive…
