Mediocre, best for very soft, wet clay

Not bad, but only for very soft clay. I haven't tried it on China, but I feel like even that might be too much for it. My normal clay is good, but the sculptor turned out to be too harsh even after working with it a bit. The springs just aren't stiff enough for fine detail work.

Pros
  • Trial for a year
Cons
  • High price

Use them for tone, not color.

Purchased to paint. I taught painting, so I'm not an amateur. They make useful dots and are good for stirring, but won't use them for drawing like I've heard from people. You get frustrated very easily if you are a beginner. But they are perfect for color strokes.

Pros
  • Good assembly
Cons
  • Frequency

Great Variety of Painting Shapes

I wanted to add some painting shapes to my artist toolbox but didn't want to spend $5-10 each at my local art store. This selection more than covers my needs and the silicone tips work great. It's also better than a putty knife for putting putty in small nail holes in walls.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Security

Ideal for many materials

I work with a variety of materials. I ordered these to try with metallic tone and I like the flexibility of sizes. Uses one of the smaller round resin tips to maneuver embedded objects. Works great and easy to clean. For polymer clay, it came in handy to have smaller ones to work out the details. Surprised by the quality at such a reasonable price. Will be added to class toolkits for my students to open.

Pros
  • Pottery and pottery tools
Cons
  • Doubtful

Not very strong but good for soft materials

Bought these after wanting something smaller than the Color Shaper which I bought elsewhere for $16. These are really thin. They curve at the base where they attach to the handle with very little pressure. If you're working with a really soft material this might be fine, but I've worked with Green Stuff and was only able to work with it for a short time before the material became too hard and only bent the brush 90 degrees.

Pros
  • Crafts and sewing
Cons
  • I will add later

Handy tools for sculpting clay, epoxy or sculpture.

I used them to sculpt and epoxidize small figures. As a hobby I do lots of fun little projects - modifying miniatures and creating objects from scratch. As a kid, I just used paper clips, toothpicks, and popsicle sticks - whatever we had on hand - and eventually I realized that I'm a real adult, with a job, and I can buy real tools. I bought them because the price was good and there were many different sized tools so I could work with regular sized figures or small desktop miniatures. Too bad I
