Fer Bake Cookies!: Kitchen & Food

So we bought it to save on parchment paper. I'll never be able to tear parchment paper properly. Plus it's a big ol' waste of paper. As this is only 1 point of use. I saw these silicone baking sheets and thought maybe I should give it a try. I baked my first batch of chocolate chip cookies on my baking mat and I can tell you these cookies baked to perfection and didn't stick. They slid right off the mat. The sizing rings were good and I plan on ordering another set for my other pan as I have…

Can't do silpat? Cookie Burn

I wanted to like it that way! I was so excited to use this as I don't like having different sized cookies and my daughter who is learning to bake would love something like this as it has more cookie recommendations. IN ANY CASE. I decided to use it immediately. I took it out of the box, washed it, took the chilled cookie dough out of the fridge, put it on the tray, put it in the oven. These cookies stood at 350 for 10 minutes. Is it PU? Because these cookies were easy. not even edible at this…

I'm a Convert - Baking Mats

I have been reluctant to use Silpat mats as I am a parchment lover and was concerned about browning the cookies on the mats. There may be a little less browning, but I didn't notice any difference in taste. More importantly, after a massive batch of holiday baking, I can say: *they clean like a dream *they cool quickly between batches (this can be an issue with cookies that need to cool completely on a tray - maybe you have to check it out ).* I helped the environment without skipping at least…

Silpat makes it SO easy

I bought my first 2 Silpat rugs about 8 years ago and was horrified at the time that they were $25 each from Williams Sonoma but thought I'd see what the deal was. I was immediately blown away by how good they are for baking almost anything! Since then I have used these simple pans at least 100 times and am amazed by their versatility and results. However, they are slightly larger than my rimmed cookie sheets so they don't lay flat and this results in some cookies not baking around the edges. I

Concerned about fake/counterfeiting, was legal

TBH I was very superficial when I ordered them through Revain because of all the horror stories people have told about receiving Chinese counterfeit products. I decided to take a chance and order two cookie mats because I already had two real regular Silpats to use for comparison and felt relieved after doing a little research. I compared cell spacing, thickness and texture. Silicone, stenciled and oversprayed letters, clipped corners, excess silicone intersections in the corners, and careful…
