Just the right amount of light

The 40w dawn to dusk bulb was hard to find in stores or online. Bought for the door from the terrace to the living room. 40 watts is spot on unless we want to light up our neighbors bonus room. The lamp has only been in use for a few weeks. while it works fine. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts. We don't have any experience with incandescent bulbs, but it's great that we don't have to replace the exterior lights.

Efficient, affordable lighting that repels insects

We have had serious problems with large mosquito-like bugs and common moths and bugs that are attracted to lights at night. An active dog that is walked several times a night will inevitably bring some bugs into the house. Immediately after replacing the regular light bulb with a yellow LED insect repellent bulb, we noticed a decrease in the number of insects and I haven't seen any insects near our door since installing the lamp. We also like that it's round like a regular lightbulb and blendsโ€ฆ

Great lights from dusk to dawn.

I have tried different types of yellow/orange light bulbs in my outdoor lights. Some still attracted insects, which in turn attracted spiders who wanted to eat them! I posted them in three places. One of the lamps has thick frosted glass and is in a fairly shaded area. Twilight adapters on other lamps would only turn off on the sunniest days, not cloudy days, and for some reason they give off quite a bit of heat despite being designed to work with LED bulbs. These Simba lightbulbs solvedโ€ฆ
