I specifically chose this cap because it had to fit ALL ASCENT bottles. Well, it doesn't match my new Ascent bottle. It is noticeably larger and the threading is noticeably different from the cap that came with the bottle. I'm confused but I like the bottle so I just use the original cap. I have a regular Ascent cap and a straw cap, but I didn't like either. The regular lid keeps my water cold, but it's noisy and sometimes difficult to open. The straw cover is difficult to use; Sometimes I catch myself sucking my brains out trying to get to the water. Trouser cap is the answer! The opening is super quiet. This cap has one big flaw – it's almost impossible to drink from it. They say it's airtight, and that's true, but the silicone stopper that makes the lid airtight also makes it impossible to suck out the liquid. My 3 year old couldn't and my husband and I had to vacuum hard to get the water out. After we removed the cork the water flowed freely but that means water will leak everywhere unless the bottle is held upright which defeats the purpose of this cap. Doesn't fit my Ascent 32oz water bottle. It appears to be oversized and the protrusions do not match my original lid or picture of the item. I tried to show in my drawing how on this cap (left) you can see the beginning and end of the crests in one picture, but on my original cap and in the product's picture the beginning and end of the crests are facing each other . I don't know if that's it or if it's too big, but it definitely doesn't fit and doesn't match what is shown. I ordered this twice

I bought this cap to replace the water bottle cap I originally bought. The original climbing bottle was only bought in January and the plastic cap broke after a few days of use. The water bottle itself appears to be able to withstand minimal shaking, but the caps will NOT withstand ANY shaking. This lid, which I bought to replace the original, lasted a few weeks longer, but has now also broken in half. This cap unscrews much faster (and quieter!) than the original cap my bottle came with. The original cap rattled loudly against the bottle as I unscrewed it, but not with a chugging cap. This review is for the CHUG cap. the pivoting cover is silent. The grip is strong and reliable, does not hit the nose. This lid has two seals. The first is on the part that screws onto the bottle itself. The second is on the lid, which screws onto the spout of the lid. Both seals appear to have little contact with the actual water in the bottle, which is a huge plus. For me it was almost perfect. The top seals well, hasn't leaked in the weeks I've had it and I trust it's sealed now. The swivel mechanism is ingenious, very convenient as you don't have to rotate it 360 degrees (but it's fixed even with a short stroke), and the hole is a nice size.
