I'm not a seamstress but someone who needs something like this to mend a dress for another family member. The reason for this is that they did not have threads to match the color of the dress. Worked great, it was fixed in such a way that it was not visible, as if there was a thread of the wrong color. The only frustration we had was trying to "start" the thread as it opened up, but with effort I think we cut the thread and started "in the middle" which worked.

Bought for a camping sewing kit for camping repairs. Because of course, I only carry one coil with me and it goes with pretty much every repair.
