SkyCaddie LX5: Touchscreen GPS Golf Watch with HD Color CourseView Maps, Black, Small Review

I bought this for my partner and couldn't find a better gift! He went golfing with my mom and they compared each other's watches and this was the best of the two! Worth the money, very easy to use and accurate.

The watch was used for three laps. So far, so good. It is easy. Feel good at your own risk. Having course pictures is a great help. Using phone apps is distracting. Managing my rounds website is a big plus. My other watches are now for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

The charging cable is attached to the watch with a tiny magnet. It turns off easily at the slightest movement or movement. Wow. Good luck charging this thing anywhere but at home. Maybe I'm sleeping, but most vehicles come with charging cables, but not if the other end is left unplugged. YES, REALLY!

Works great. High visibility even in the sun. It also seems very accurate. Syncing with their app is very fast, especially over Wi-Fi. It also looks good worn as a regular watch when not playing golf. The only downside for me is called "smart watch", it doesn't read texts, email notifications etc from your phone. Hopefully Skycaddy can do an update to accommodate this.

I bought this product to use as a golf course GPS and to replace a Garmin product. This is a really great product but I couldn't read it, especially with polarized sunglasses on. I also found it difficult to interact with onscreen functions due to the size. I ended up with a larger portable SkyCaddie which is a great complement to the GPS I use on the course. Watch and PDA functions are similar if not identical. The question is which size is better.

Took me hours to get this working with the computer interface. Then I realized that the features I wanted weren't included in the service I signed up for. I should have upgraded, but no, I can't, even though it says so. So I bit the bullet and paid another $40 a year to get a new maintenance program. Then I tried to update them. I have been using Skycaddie GPS devices for over twenty years. My wife bought me a competitor's GPS a few years ago. Used it for a couple of weeks and went back to my Skycaddy. Last year I bought an SX 500 with excellent GPS but a few months ago someone stole it from my shopping cart while I was in the store, I immediately contacted Skycaddy and turned it off. too small could not read the information, it would be difficult to swing the watch on the wrist, and so on. size on my swing. Very good golf GPS watch, not ideal as a smartwatch. The Lx5 has a bright, easy to read dial and offers lots of great hole and course information. It's like owning one of the SkyCaddy portable golf devices, but on your wrist. Easy to use and manage screens. It pairs easily with the Skycaddy 360 app. For golf alone it may be the most accurate and best on the market. It counts steps and displays your average heart rate on a separate screen.
