However I would like to add

I bought this product and couldn't get it to work for the rest of my life. Finally found drivers and software. I'm using Windows 10 64 bit, but the guy also offers 32 bit drivers. You can download it from YouTube if you search "Installing Drivers for Bios CH341A (Black Edition) USB Chip Programmer By: NSC" without the double quotes. I understand we're not allowed to post links to non-Revain sites in reviews, so I can't post a direct link. Downloads are in the comments section. Watch full video.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • For a long time

Seems to be working for the most part.

This works most of the time, but I found it really annoying and sometimes dangerous to search for software and drivers on internal networks as there are viruses in some places offering downloads. Sometimes it refuses to recognize my boards with W25Q80BVSIG and W25X35 chips. Looks hit or miss. I would like to give it more stars as the quality seems good and it actually works with Flash in Linux Mint. So that's a plus, but the lack of access to Windows drivers and software is a real…

Works great with SPI stick

Works great with SPI stick! Flashrom can only use 16 which can be leveraged; other pins are available for Windows software, but not via Flash (only until more work is done on this chipset). On microcircuits, the pinout of which is known to you, the microcircuits are connected to 8 pins far from the USB connector. Just go in and read and write a file with Flashrom, done. Be sure to label the pins on the BIOS chip if it isn't labeled before you put it back into the motherboard, otherwise the BIOS

Working but no manual or software so prepare to do some research

Please see some tips that may help. The chip I had to program was a Winbond called 25Q128FVIQ (or W25Q128FVIQ) for a Z170 ASUS motherboard. Initial attempts resulted in BIOS write errors with a readback check showing inconsistent content, and the motherboard was even more bricked than before (absolutely nothing when powered on). But I finally solved the problem by switching to an OLD version of the programming software! Here's what I found. Super old versions like 1.13 were useless because they

If you buy this, you probably have .

If you are purchasing this you likely have the technical skills required to locate the CH341A programming software and successfully flash your chip. I bought the latest version 1.34 from skygz@qq.com as per other reviews. It worked exactly as expected and successfully flashed firmware version 3703 on my Asus Z170-A BIOS chip. The chip itself was a Gigadevice GD25B128CPIG, similar to the GD25Q128 series chip listed as compatible. I can now use my computer again after a buggy BIOS update from…

Poor quality, will brick your laptop.

I recently received a password protected laptop for free. It's okay, I thought, I'll go through with it. There is just one problem, this flasher is not only low quality, but also it can break your laptop. The first thing I did was do some flash dumps. Both dumps had different checksums. I did a few more dumps. Exactly the same problem. I tried using another laptop with Linux and the Flashroom tool. Exactly the same problem. I unsoldered the pre-soldered wires from my terminal and only used…
