Dog with anxiety! - my new review

I saw this item on TikTok or Facebook and I purchased it for my dog that does not do well in the car. We have tried it several days and she still has anxiety in the car!

Pros
  • Can help dogs feel more comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings
Cons
  • Some dogs may not respond well to the pheromones, rendering the collar ineffective in calming their anxiety

Didn't work for my dog - but the vet suggested it

This wasn't quite enough for my dog, but I could tell it did have a small effect. When he would sit in the sun, you could see him sniffing the air and looking a bit more relaxed, but it had no effect on his triggers - thunder- other dogs - separation.

Pros
  • Dogs
Cons
  • Didn’t do it’s job, keeping my dog calm and not anxious.

Helps Calm Dog During Fireworks Season

Annual fireworks season is difficult for our dog, who hates loud noises and becomes very anxious and barks constantly. Although the collar is not a miracle cure, it is effective as the dog tolerates most of the noise and only reacts to the larger explosions (those almost have us barking too)! With an approximate three week period of June to July firework noise, the collar seems to maintain effectiveness the entire period.

Pros
  • Adjustable size to fit dogs of different breeds and sizes
Cons
  • Did not work at all. Was a waste of money

Doesn't seem to work

The diffuser in adaptil works great so I was hoping this would work when we travel. No such luck, doesn't seem to do anything.

Pros
  • I didn’t notice a big change, but it did help a little with her separation anxiety
Cons
  • I really didn't appreciate any benefit for my anxious pup. Waste of money.

Didn’t work for my dog

It didn’t work for my Morkie. maybe his level of anxiety is too severe for this caller. But who’s to say…. It might work for someone else.So I wouldn’t say don’t give it a try it just didn’t work for my dog. But might work for yours. It’s just one of those things that you have to trial to figure it out.

Pros
  • Can improve dog-owner relationships by reducing stress in both parties
Cons
  • The collar may not fit all dog breeds and sizes, limiting its usefulness for pet owners who have large or unconventional dog breeds

A total waste of money

So disappointed I wasted my money on this. It did absolutely nothing to help our dog. If I could give 0 stars I would. That's my review!

Pros
  • Easy to put on and doesn't smell awful
Cons
  • Bought for the 4th of July. Did not like condition it arrived in with box crushed.

Worked great for Florida thunderstorms!

Didn't believe it would work but desperately needed something to help with Florida thunderstorms. Our German Shepherd is deathly afraid of just the wind, let along thunderstorms, which are new to him since we moved to Florida. In the past, had to give him prescription sedatives just for the wind. Thought ThunderEase Calming collar was at least worth a try. Was hoping for even a little bit of help with his anxiety. Totally surprised with how well this worked. Most of the time when wearing the…

Pros
  • Contains natural pheromones that mimic those produced by lactating mother dogs
Cons
  • My dog had allergic reaction. Neck swelling.

Did not work best in my review

Loved the idea of an all natural way to help my Jack Russell with her fear of things (she is a rescue from a puppy mill) but sadly this collar made no difference at all.

Pros
  • Can be used in combination with other anxiety-reducing techniques
Cons
  • I thought this would help our newly rescued dog and has had no effect.

Made my dog's anxiety worse

Somehow made my dog more anxious than before. Started barking loudly at every little thing instead of just whining. Once i took it off she went back to normal. I would not buy this again.

Pros
  • Does not require medication or sedatives
Cons
  • This item did not work at all

This is a good thing for travel

This product is made to help my fur baby. Less stress during travel is the goal for a better time for both of us. Glad I have it.

Pros
  • Can make car rides more comfortable for anxious dogs
Cons
  • The pheromones in the collar may lose effectiveness over time, requiring frequent replacement of the product

Didn't work for my dog

I've tried this and the room plug and neither have worked for my dog. Had zero effect. Maybe it works for some just not my pup.

Pros
  • Clinically proven to help reduce stress and anxiety in dogs
Cons
  • No improvements

I have purchased these collars each month for several months, hoping that over time they would become more effective. Problem is.they only keep getting more expensive, and they just don't work. Perhaps it's because my dog with separation anxiety is older and doesn't respond to a mother's pheromones? I don't know. But, I'm not wasting any more money on these. They haven't helped at all. In fact, she seems worse. The neighbors say she howls the whole time I'm gone, and that is something that has…

Pros
  • It worked immediately. Hard to believe.
Cons
  • IT SURE DIDN'T CALM OUR DOG DOWN, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING THIS CRAP

Didn't notice any change!

I was told to buy these from my vet for our small anxious dog. He wore it daily for a month and we didn't notice even the slightest change in behavior. I will not be buying any more.

Pros
  • Offers a holistic approach to dog anxiety
Cons
  • Didn't help at all

Scared Dog - my new review

Our 30 lb Australian Labradoodle is very afraid of fireworks, thunder, and other loud noises. We used the the collar for one month, and we noticed no improvement. Wish it had helped.

Pros
  • Helps to promote positive behavior in dogs
Cons
  • Does not work!

Didn't work for my opinion

Was hopeful, but it didn't help our anxious7 yr old dog. Our 5 yr old dog became frolicky when she was next to our dog that was wearing the collar. Wouldn't recommend

Pros
  • It works first few days but wears off. Dog seems to get used to product.
Cons
  • Does not work on my dog . The calming feature is not there.

Efficacy ebbs as time goes by

It's a great idea. Not great that you can't remove it once you put it on. If you could take it off and on, you could put it in a bag in the fridge to try to preserve potency. The couple of days I definitely noticed a difference in the reactivity and anxiety. Within a week I couldn't see any difference. So I bought the extract to spray on the collar or thundershirt. Not sure it makes a difference at all. Dog still a basket case when left in the car alone for half an hour.

Pros
  • POWERED BY ADAPTIL: Recommended by thousands of vets and scientifically studied and verified for over 20 years.
Cons
  • Doesn’t work waste of money

Seem to work as stated!

Use this for my 10 lbs. dog when flying in cabin in lieu of any meds. Seem to work great as he is very calm. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • FROM THE MAKERS OF THUNDERSHIRT: The most trusted brand for reducing dog anxiety - you can trust ThunderWorks for affordable, effective, easy-to-use calming solutions
Cons
  • Did not work on barking. Will not buy again.

Seems to work good for me

My dog seems calmer with it. Doesn’t knock him out like meds, but seems to chill him out. He has anxiety around people he doesn’t know in his "house”. This seemed to help.

Pros
  • Can be used as a preemptive measure before stressful situations
Cons
  • It did not what so ever stop my dogs from barking

Helped within an hour!

We moved recently and my 2 yr old dog Cayde has been having horrible anxiety in the new apt. He would shake uncontrollably in the bedroom at nIght and started to go sleep in the living room on the couch. Which is very weird for him, he usually wants to be as close to me as possible at all times. My daughter, who is a vet, used this collar for her anxious dog and it worked a little for him (her dog is off the charts anxious since day 1 tho, Cayde was never anxious before the move.) So I got…

Pros
  • STOP PROBLEM BARKING, destructive chewing, trembling, fear of loud noises, separation anxiety, and many other "not-so-fun" symptoms your dog may display
Cons
  • My dog has been wearing it for about 2 weeks and I haven’t seen a change

Chose it over Adaptil

I originally got the Adaptil collar from my vet for $30 ($20 on Revain) and it was amazing. It really helped my dachshund relax and I found it more effective than the diffuser. When I went to buy it, I saw it was more expensive than the Thunderease but with supposedly the same DAP percentage. And upon further research it's true. I got the box and verified the ingredients with the Adaptil box. They're both 5% DAP and with a light Google search found they are both owned by the same parent company

Pros
  • Easy to use and non-invasive
Cons
  • These collars don’t work as well as the cheaper off brand ones.
