This little clamp mount is very versatile, very handy and generally very well constructed. Being mostly metal, it's surprisingly heavy (and durable) and looks very secure. The main disadvantage is the threaded ball attached to the main clamp - it does not remain on the thread. It looks like the manufacturer used some kind of thread lock to secure it (see photo), but that didn't work for me. Update: I bought a second one and am very disappointed with it! It doesn't look like the first one I bought. It's not strong at all. A great product for anyone who needs to film in a variety of locations with minimal equipment. lots of indoor shoots in nightclubs, bars, whatever. And even if I wanted to take a tripod with me in these conditions, someone could potentially damage or knock over your gear and ruin your shot. I feel like this clip was redesigned in some places but completely overlooked in others. The jaws of the clamp appear solid due to the heavy metals, but there are some very thin rubber pads in the jaws.
