Description of Smart WiFi Relay Sonoff Mini R2 Two Way Smart Switch

The new version of the Sonoff Mini - R2 WiFi switch allows you to control one 220V line with a total load current of 10A using a smartphone or using a voice assistant such as Amazon Echo and Google Home via the Internet through an application on your phone. From anywhere in the world, via the Internet, you can control the switch in the EWeLink application for IOS and Android, set time intervals for automatic switching, set up repetitions of operation by day of the week, monitor the status of the switches. The Wi-Fi switch can be mounted in various junction boxes. This is perhaps one of the smallest switches available on the market. It is also equipped with an external antenna, which improves the stability of the Wi-Fi connection, thanks to which, for example, the module can be located deep in the wall. Like Sonoff BASICR3/Sonoff RFR3, this switch supports DIY mode, which allows it to be used in independent open smart home control systems such as HomeAssistant without flashing. To enable the DIY mode, close the contact pair on the board that comes with the kit with a jumper, according to the documentation. After that, create an access point on your smartphone, run the DIY mode tool on a computer connected to your home network. The relay will connect to the access point automatically. In DIY mode, you can program parameters, turn on times, integrate devices into various smart home control systems, such as Majordomo. The Sonoff Mini R2 relay does not have an on/off state, but changes its state to the opposite, which allows this switch to be used with physical switches. It is also possible to use a two-point feed-through switch (requires two Sonoff MINI modules), which is convenient if you want to control the lighting from two places, such as in the case of a flight of stairs. In this case, in addition to the standard control mode, you can use walk-through switches, regardless of the presence of the Internet and Wi-Fi connection. The purchase was not worth it at all.

The description says that it works with the ZigBee protocol, but it doesn't. This is a regular wifi relay, The description needs to be corrected.

Pros
  • The relay is good, similar ones have been working in the house for several years, I transferred it to Alice through the eWeLink application.

I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

I have two "mistresses" - Alice and Marusya. Alice still rules by the number of vendors that can be connected. Marusya is not yet friends with Sonoff.

Pros
  • I've been using these relays for almost a year. Stands in the hallway on the backlight in the plinth, in the bathroom on the fan (paired with a thermo-hygrometer from Xiaomi) and on the studio light for filming. Binds to Alice via ewelink account and works great. As they wrote - through the native application it is possible to work without the Internet in the local network. The operation options are different: impulse, on-off or scheduled operation. I put an ordinary bell button on the studio light for quick activation, bypassing Alice. Instead of a button, I put the most ordinary reed switch on the backlight of the plinth, so that when the door is closed, the light turns on, and you can set it after how many seconds or minutes it will turn itself off. In the bathroom, paired with a thermohygrometer - turns on according to the condition . Humidity rises above 60% - incl. Falls below 60% - off. In general - happy as an elephant. And, yes, yes . The size does not fit the regular sockets a little, so if possible, change to deeper ones. By the way, you can stick it into the chandelier and not bother at all, the main thing is that the switch is always on.

Has pros: Easy installation and configuration, the size allows you to hide in the "glass", but if only there are not very many wires and "flexible" wiring. It works quickly, there is almost no difference between working off the switch or through the interface, it can be a fraction of a second. Allows you to build in floor lamps, table bedside lamps. Ideal for giving - he arrived and in advance the house where necessary "highlighted". Can be integrated with Siri through the keyword - script name
