📸 Smatree F1 Waterproof Floating Carbon Fiber Hand Grip for GoPro Hero 6/5/4/3+/3/Session/Action Cameras Review

It was amazing during our trip to Hawaii. Take a wrench with you as it is difficult to grip the handle with wet or freshly creamed hands. This is not a design flaw, a knurled handle. I like that the leash is removable and the hole is 1/4-20 threaded (tripod mount). Very high quality item at a great price. I am deeply impressed. Just in case, I installed a floating back on my GoPro, so I can't confirm that the unit can float under the weight of the GoPro.

First, it is carbon. And who doesn't love carbon fiber! Second, it is very convenient to hold and take off. I've used it with my Hero 5 on many adventures. The aluminum tips and clip are great and have a much better feel than the standard plastic found on most GoPro accessories. And it looks even better live. The only downside is that it doesn't float very high out of the water. So if you're going rafting or surfing with this grip, I highly recommend adding a float or case to your GoPro…

Beautiful design and very light high quality materials. Most importantly, the pen floats without any issues. I use an aluminum screw on several GoPro mounts as they seem to be more durable than plastic screws. The wrench is also a plus. The only minor issue is that the "Smatree" lettering on the grip has worn off with minimal use in humid climates. Love it! I've used one of the cheap yellow float grips you can find here in accessory kits but it never inspires much confidence and I've always thought it looked cheap. Light weight but good build quality. I wish for more strength. It barely holds the Hero 4 Black with the extended battery installed. The blue tip of the pole is barely visible above the water. It would be hard to find if it was more than a few feet away from you while surfing or doing other water sports.
