Description of πŸ”Œ Enhance Connectivity: Powered HUB with OTG Micro USB Ethernet Adapter for Raspberry Pi Zero, Google Nexus Player & Windows Android Tablet

Host OTG cable to 3 USB & LAN adapter -- Adds additional 3-Port OTG USB extension; Adds 10/100 Mbps wired internet connectivity. Driver-less design for Windows 8.1 / 10 (32/64 bit) or up, Mac OS 10.9 or up, and Android 6.0 or up operation system, Chrome OS. Compatible for Raspberry Pi 2, Amazon Fire TV Stick, notebook, Tablets, and computer with one available micro-b port. Built-in DC power port, supports 5V power adapter, a power cable included; It only powers USB 2.0 HUB and NOT the host; It charges the added USB device. It has limited Android compatibility. Android users, before you buy, be sure to look if the device has a (grayed out) "Ethernet" menu in Settings under WIRELESS & NETWORKS. Most probably it will just work then.

Ideal for computers and accessories

I had a Windows 8 tablet (HP Stream 7) that couldn't be used because it wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 but had no memory. I could use it to connect the keyboard, mouse, and USB drive I needed for that. It worked flawlessly throughout the process. It comes with a separate USB to barrel plug adapter for power so I had no trouble connecting everything. I recommend it. If you need an OTG connector, this is it.

  • Stable test results

Works but no power through on Raspberry Pi Zero

This device will work when plugged into a regular USB port on the Pi Zero. I've tried powering on the device and using a USB hub and Ethernet through the RPi's power port, but that didn't work. So keep in mind that you will still need a separate power supply for your Raspberry Pi Zero. The good news is that if your power supply is 5.0V 2A, you probably don't need the included power cord. That should be enough to power both the Pi and the devices connected to your USB hub.

  • Brilliantly made

Good for low bandwidth applications

I bought this for the raspberry pie scratch and it works great but the ethernet speed is a bit confusing in the product description. It's a "Fast Ethernet device" that isn't fast at all. This is a very old technology dating back to 1995 with a theoretical top speed of 100MB/s (12.5MB/s). This is the speed of 802.11b (WLAN 1). No USB charger is included; only cable. The rest works fine. It provides my keyboard, mouse and network connection with raspberry pie.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works great with Raspberry Pi

Used to power and extend connection to Raspberry Pi Zero. For this use case it works fantastic and allows you to use full sized ethernet and USB devices without any hassles or scripting. This eliminates the need to lug around an adapter as it will provide all the power you need and if you are using the Pi for Kodi etc you can literally use a keyboard mouse from the couch with no wires etc.

Pros
  • Nice Packaging
Cons
  • Volume

Works great with Asus Google Nexus Streaming Player

Ethernet connection required for my Asus Google Nexus Streaming Player. Samys 5 Pin Micro USB to RJ45 Ethernet Network Adapter gets the job done perfectly. It worked straight away and I love that I can plug in USB devices like a memory stick to add extra storage for Google Nexus Player. I am very happy with the purchase and recommend it to anyone who wants to connect to an ethernet network and USB drive for their Google Nexus player. The only downside would be that the power cord is not…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models

I wish I could give ZERO STARS. It was used for its intended purpose, but quickly overheated and almost caught fire. Now it's charred and I'm glad nothing else caught fire. It destroyed all 3 low power devices connected to it. Nothing else was new. I replaced it with a USB/Ethernet anchor hub, replaced the broken parts (Cat 5e cable, USB Kinovo BT400 and Canakit 802.11N USB Wi-Fi adapter) and now everything works fine. This thing tried to burn down my house. I got minor burns on my fingers when

Works very well with Raspberry Pi Zero W

I have several projects that I create on Raspberry Pi Zero W and in many of them the Pi is a WiFi hotspot. During development I needed LAN access to it, so I bought it, which includes Ethernet and a few extra USBs in case I need to connect a keyboard or other device. Works very well. I've tried using a 5V DC power supply and plugging it into the Pi's USB power port, but it didn't quite work as expected, so I don't use it with power through, just as a regular hub in a regular one Port Micro USB…
