Get this shizz if you want to make cool shapes! It's damn cool!

It's freaking AWESOME! I was very skeptical as I had never made a mold like this before. I've done fiberglass and carbon fiber, but it's pretty easy. Especially since I did it on a coated surface and couldn't find any information on whether it would stick to it. So this stuff can be applied to a plasti-dip sprayed item without sticking to it or anything, so it worked great for what I needed! To make fairing extensions for a projector upgrade I had to make the back of a vacuum mold I had already

Pros
  • Shapes and Shapes
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

My forms are stuck. Now I'm sad.

I've used Oomoo 30 (6 hour cure) a few times and never had a problem so I chose 25 because of the faster cure time. I'm not saying you'll have the same result but 25 destroyed my carefully crafted parts. They were sculpted from wood, metal, styrene, and epoxy, and then covered in several coats of glossy paint so they were fairly smooth and shiny, with no undercuts, deep indentations, or grooves. I've made these parts to cast about 5 times and before that they came off perfectly with oomoo 30โ€ฆ

Used to make wax patterns for 3D printed parts for casting

I used this material to make a silicone mold for a musket part that I wanted to cast in steel. I had to do a wax master for that. I used Solid Edge CAD software to design the template and then used it to enlarge the part by 3% to account for steel shrinkage. After filling and sanding the master surface I was able to fill it with a silicone mold. I used vegetable oil as a mold lubricant. The silicone worked really well because I couldn't easily make a two part mold for this part and this partโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sculpting Materials
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
