We are starting a kitchen remodel and I was looking at the hinge tools. The Sommerfield Jig offers the best possible hold with reliable repeatability.

Came with a different size screw. So if I drill two side holes, I have to change the drill bit. Not suitable for production. I emailed the seller and he never replied. Otherwise it works as advertised.

I own and use many Sommerfeld trimmers and tools and all of their products have top reviews and this unit is no exception. Easy to set up and use, cuts holes as cleanly and smoothly as possible. I would recommend any Sommefelds product without hesitation.

It could be a better product but the drill bit burns out by itself, the center comes off very often even with the small tool that plugs into it have delivered, after two or three doris will continue to loosen, so you have to stop, check for proper fit, and retighten. I was expecting something better or much better for the money

I bought this tool in April and only started using it in September. We had to adjust the depth of cut and luckily we had the right wrenches. Loosen the post nut and now the nut doesn't tighten, just floats up and down on the threaded shank as if it had snapped off. Now the mormyshka will not hold a specific depth. Spend a little more money and buy a Blum Ecodrill, this device sucks. A star rating is required to submit a review, but is not required to be received.

. The only problem I have is the opening for the main compartment. Either I have a VERY stupid one or it's the wrong type of bit. It takes over 30 seconds to drill the main pocket hole. For my first project I had to drill 140 hinge pockets. 30 seconds each time really added up. I will buy a spare bit, hopefully this will make a difference.

Main hole cutter depth setting does not save depth setting. The threads on the two depth adjusting nuts are of poor quality and the nuts are too thin to fit a wrench and extremely difficult to adjust depth. The mount does not come with wrenches for installing nuts and even if there were any I don't think the mount would hold its settings. I tried using this tool on two doors and it drilled the main hinge bushing at different depths on the same door. I have sent this jig back and suggest looking

Robust and well made. I do two or three cabinet projects a year and that has helped speed up the 18-door work.
