Shuts down under heavy load

I bought a puck hoping to replace my gigabyte aorus gaming with gtx 1060 egpu. Although the puck is physically smaller than the Aorus Gaming Box, the puck's massive power supply negates the portability benefits. Unfortunately, Puck also crashed several times under heavy graphic load on 3 different computers. Whenever it turns off, you have to physically remove power to reset it. Never had problems like this with the Aorus gaming console. I don't have time to fix Puck so I'm sending it back…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Mac Book Pro 19 " on Samsung 49 " C49RG90 via display port

I had the previous washing machine. I think it's RX 570 and it might not work with a 49 inch monitor. There were noticeable lags in page rendering, window animations, and application responsiveness. Connected, and everything is noticeably faster. Web pages display quickly, window animations are instant, and apps are responsive. It's quiet and the extra USB ports were great. The previous washing machine didn't have USB ports and I had a dongle to plug in my keyboard and mouse. Now I have a hub…

Makes my 2018 Mac game the way it should be!

I just bought a new i7 Mac mini after selling my iMac to save some money. I didn't realize that a 6 year old new Mac wasn't as good as my old one. I was extremely disappointed with the graphics performance, since I use 3 screens to work and the integrated graphics can hardly keep up. Games were out of the question - jumps and stutters were so severe that games were unplayable. This plugs in, daisy chains my Apple Thunderbolt displays (using the Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter) and…

Ignore a review saying they returned it.

Let's get one thing straight. If you are investigating WHY you need this EGPU, you should know how to use it. FIRST, IGNORE A REVIEW STATING THAT IT WAS A WASTE AND THAT ANOTHER WOULD BE BETTER. I have no idea how someone who uses a Mac and buys one doesn't know how to actually switch to a different graphics card in the search options. If you want a real review, read on. I'm using a 2020 Macbook Air with it (yes, the one that suffers from "overheating" issues). I used it as an ultraportable…

HDMI flickering on 2018 Mac mini and fan noise

Just bought it, connected to my 2018 Mac mini with the latest version 11.2.3 Big Sur. I have an LG 5k on a T3 eGPU port and a Dell 4k on an HDMI eGPU port. The HDMI-based display has a very fast, all-white, full-frame flash that occurs at random intervals, apparently every few minutes, but sometimes once or twice a minute. This only happened with the addition of the eGPU, and since the Mini doesn't have a GPU, I certainly added one to greatly improve the graphical performance of even the main…
