Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

For the home and not only excellent glass, one for almost all occasions. And shoot a portrait and landscape, and shoot birds, and in relatively good light and sporting events. Pretty compact, all the same for the system. And all his minuses will be 100% covered by his pluses Has some pros Good general purpose zoom. In order not to carry a bunch of lenses with you. Relatively compact compared to others. Its cons: The built-in flash will always give a shadow in a picture with such a long lens. AF

The product is very low quality, not what you need at all.

Sony's SEL lenses all suffer from extremely slow autofocus (when compared with SAL through an adapter, and even more so if we compare SAL to Sony alpha, and not to Sony Nex). But this one is without comment. What is the purpose of the FR 200 if it is almost impossible to focus? Only stones and mountains to photograph, or what? With the burst speed that the Sony Nex7 can deliver, with this lens you can be sure that you won’t be able to take a single shot of a bird taking off. This lens has been…

The right product for me, the price suited me.

I first used it on SONY NEX-5, where in the evening I shot only on manual focus, autofocus on a penny with him for some reason was weird. A good everyday lens can be said from the experience of using the five. Then I bought a NEX-6 - when I saw the new firmware on the camera and the lens was flashed to the latest versions - lo and behold, phase detection appeared and the focusing speed noticeably increased, to be honest, I use this camera + lens combination as a reportage, it’s quite decent…

Pros
  • 18-200 mm - respectively, the latitude of focal lengths The quality of workmanship, does not fall out, does not play. Focuses quickly at a distance of 18 to 100 mm. Sharp over the entire range of focal lengths. After the firmware, I began to see the phase sensors of the camera.
Cons
  • Focusing from 100 mm to the end, you have to constantly poke on the shutter button, otherwise it loses focus, at the end it slowly moves from the bokeh state to the focus state in a couple of seconds. Expensive filters. The price is 36 thousand now against 23 for the TAMRON 18-200, although internally the SEL 18-200LE can only see the camera's phase focus sensors. I would like more, for example 18-250 or 18-275 mm.

A good product at a good price, I advise you to try it.

I needed a travel zoom with universal focal lengths for the a6000. The choice for Sony with an E-mount is small. 18-105 and 18-200. My 18-200 is more suitable for photo and even video mode. Convenient manual zoom control. The trunk does not fall out. The clarity of the picture with a 24MP matrix occupies 70% of the frame, and at all focal lengths. I got a copy with good clarity in 90% of the frame coverage, but at the 200th end, all clarity fell sharply. Lathers around the edges at a level of…

Pros
  • Compact for zoom convenience of communication.
Cons
  • Soap at the edges of the frame on a covered aperture. Arbitrary self-excitation of the stabilizer.

really soft (and heavy) compared to the 16-50 kit lens

It's ok if you absolutely need that much range in a general purpose lens, but I ended up returning it because 16 kit lens - 50 on my a6300 it was MUCH SHARPER and obviously a lot lighter. I'm not usually a pixel artist, but the difference was quite significant. I use 55-210 when I need more range and 50mm 1.8 prime for low light and very shallow depth of field.

Pros
  • Always liked it
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great all in one lens for the Sony Alpha 6000

Bought this lens as a compromise lens to replace my 16-55mm and 55-210mm telephoto lenses after I'd missed too many shots over the years on a recent cruise to Alaska. It always seemed that the camera had the wrong lens for the frame. So far I'm happy with the lens. It's not as deep and sharp as 55-210mm full body, but it works. It gave me good results on some close-up shots. see photo

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Waiting too long

SEL18200LE comes with old .01 firmware

Overall I like this lens but without the latest .02 firmware the phase focus doesn't work. My lens comes with firmware .01 which only has contrast-detect autofocus. From what I've read, only Sony can update the firmware. I used this lens from Southtown Camera through Revain. I was photographing sunsets when I noticed my A6300 was sneaking around with autofocus. Sigh.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Smooth operation - wish it was a little lighter.

I wish it was smaller and lighter but other than that I'm very happy with it. The zoom and focus controls are very smooth, and I like being able to lock the zoom mechanism (although I didn't run into the problem I've read about the lens popping out simply due to gravity). I'm not qualified or experienced enough to judge the optical quality of this lens, but I take a lot of photos with it and I don't complain about what I see.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Some cons

Its biggest advantage is the large focal length range.

I use this lens with the a6300 and to be honest it's the lens I took the most pictures with. I also have a 16-50mm kit lens and a 35mm f/1.8 prime lens. The reason I use this lens the most is because I'm spoiled for its tremendous focal length. 18-200mm is an incredibly versatile range and a great all-rounder. However, it has its downsides. First, it's big and heavy. In fact, it's just as heavy, if not a little heavier, than the camera body itself, meaning you're doubling the overall weight of…

  • Impressive

  • boring packaging

I am very satisfied with this lens

Before buying this lens I searched and checked three lenses. I am very happy with it. It's smaller and lighter than you might think of a superzoom. The build quality meets my expectations from Sony. I took about 200 photos and am satisfied with the performance of the lens. I have a pixel, not a pixel, nor is it a prime number. Compared to Zeiss or Sony fixes, this will always be a little less in several respects. I love that I can leave the house with this lens on my camera and not have to…
