This was my first Blu-ray player and I have to say I was NOT impressed. While the picture and sound from this device are excellent, the player itself is MUCH less reliable. About 75% of the time, this player encounters problems or errors when playing a disc (including Blu-ray and regular DVDs). In most cases, it skips or freezes completely, requiring a long shutdown and reboot. My original rating (4 stars) in October 2007 matched others I've seen. quiet, looks good and the picture quality of the Blu-ray DVD is excellent. This compensates for some inconveniences and limitations that I didn't expect from a 3rd generation product: 1. very slow loading time.
