A simple radio that works very well.

I received this radio for car use because my car radio broke. I chose the Sony ICF-F10 based on reviews and price. So far this radio is excellent and has lasted longer than the ones I bought before Sony. This is a simple radio that works very well. I love listening to an NPR station, which is often overwhelmed by local stations - this Sony can hold up an NPR signal where previous radio couldn't. It can receive other channels that I could not receive before. In fact, it works better in my area…

Nice "transistor radio "

I like the retro 1960's style. It arrived today and I put some D-Cells in it. Moments later, I heard all the news from the San Francisco radio station (about 90 miles away) with perfect clarity. Radio is in many ways an anachronism. If your favorite AM station is on the X-Band (1620-1700kHz), you may not need this setting. If your radio is like mine, the upper part of its scale is 1660kHz, which I'm fine with as Bear is the only X-band station I enjoy listening to. As a lifelong radio amateur I

Get through a stormy night with this radio and two D-size batteries!

This Sony ICF-F10 radio was purchased from Revain in early May (2013) and ran on the same Duracell D batteries for about 9 hours a day for 6 weeks. Imagine me was happy. should have been able to use this radio, same batteries, for hours last night during a tornado warning with lightning, thunder, rain and high winds. Of course, the roar of the storm was too loud to hear AM stations, but I found a friendly voice broadcasting from a VHF station about 40 miles away. The station monitored NOAA's…

Great radio for the price!

Love the simplicity of this cheap radio, no frills, no digital displays to degrade over time, no buttons to one day bind or stick, this is a very practical radio for its purpose. yes it has a very good signal level, it pulls stations very well. Good separation between stations, the handles are a bit sloppy, they wobble a bit, I really don't expect them to break unless you force them, hit them or drop them on the handles. It comes with a carrying strap and a headphone jack in the radio. The…

Very good portable AM FM radio with great sound!

I don't often write reviews but this is an exceptional product. This is the BEST battery operated AM/FM radio I have ever owned. I live out of town and it gets all local stations crystal clear and even distant stations that I can't pick up on other radio stations. This works better than my car stereo when receiving long distance broadcasts. Size: The size is perfect, the radio is lightweight, using only two D-cell batteries, so perfect for traveling and hiking or camping. The sound from this is

Inexpensive - portable audio and video

This is a decent radio at a good price. Mine seemed to have good sensitivity and not bad selectivity (pulled out weak signals well and separated signals that were close together on the dial well). The sound quality from a single speaker was good for the price. He is simple and easy. The tuning and volume controls are on the front panel. The three-position switch, AM and FM, from bottom to top, is on the right, along with the headphone jack. I'd rather align the on-off switch with the volume…

Works, but not very well.

Bought this portable transistor radio and have been using it for four months, long enough to honestly test it. Wouldn't buy it again. Like everything in life, this radio has good and bad sides. For me, the bad outweigh the good. First, here are what I consider to be its strengths. It offers quite loud volume when you need it, useful if you use it in a noisy environment like the beach, garage or work. I also use the radio an average of an hour or more a day and four months later I'm still using…
