Quality is top notch, happy with everything.

I needed a universal fixed lens for the Sony NEX-6. Since on a 1.5 crop, 35 mm are roughly equivalent to 50 mm (52.5 to be exact), and 50 is universal, the choice fell on the Sony SEL35F18. It has a good aperture ratio, compact dimensions even with a hood (although the camera still moved from a pocket to a backpack). Of course, other manufacturers, such as Sigma, have similar models with even greater aperture, but they are noticeably larger and they do not have a stabilizer. The image quality…

Pros
  • Large aperture, compact size and light weight, image stabilizer, good image quality, good build quality.
Cons
  • Quite a high price, noticeable chromatic aberration in the backlight.

Perfect product for any user!

as a staff member, in my opinion, most likely, would be attributed to the shortcomings if I bought in the 2022 for some reason, they are not in a hurry to sell it, which is a bit strange.

Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

A couple of times on trips I changed it to a regular 16-50 move away from the object, the frames became noticeably dull, use whale glass, because I bought Sigma AF 16mm f / 1.4 DC DN Here are shots taken by Sony 35mm f/1.8 (SEL35F18) and the ducks were taken through a glass case: And more:

Pros
  • I don’t want to write about such ++ as weight, compactness, aperture ratio and stub - all this is in the characteristics and they correspond to reality.
Cons
  • When photographing macro with low contrast, in the shadows, once I failed to focus after 3 For architecture and landscapes, there is not always enough width, but, again, I was ready for this before buying,

I like everything, the quality is good, the price is acceptable.

It does not cost its money, it should cost the same as the fix 50 / 1.8. But 50 / 1.8 is a bit narrow, this 35 mm lens is much wider and at least portraits, even street, even just take pictures indoors. It would be even better if the lens had a 30mm. Its pros: Build quality. Bokeh is average, but much better than stock 16-50 zoom. I didn’t particularly notice the vignetting, the distortion is corrected by the camera equal, so this is also not a problem. Has cons: Soapy, there are no those sharp

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

Everything is individual, of course, but in my opinion every owner of the Sony Alpha NEX should have it. Because he is from the category that I see. I shoot it and it's pretty good. =) Has some pros Lightweight and relatively compact. Not a pancake of course, but the dimensions are modest. Stabilizer thing! In principle, it’s not really needed for photography at such a focal length, especially with such aperture, but for video, it’s just class! Although video fixes are essentially not very…

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

I bought it as an addition to the whale and a fifty-kopeck replacement for Sony F3. They can shoot portraits, but it works out better for fifty dollars (SEL-50 / 1.8). The room is still a bit narrow. As a staffer, it is not always convenient, again because of the EGF. But if you adapt and come to terms with the angle, it does all the other lenses in the picture. Its pros: Focusing speed, aperture ratio, dimensions (compact enough), lens hood included, nice and high-quality assembled, metal))…

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

I took it as a portrait lens, with the hope of using it as a staff member. In Sony Center, I put it on my A5100 camera and Sony 50mm f / 1.8, shot the seller => Sony 35mm f / 1.8 is noticeably clearer, and 50 / 1.8 really lathers under all other identical conditions at / 1, 8 (well, not as much as the whale, of course). XA is strong at / 1.8-2.5 when shooting distant objects, with the sun behind the clouds, the church was shooting> 100 m. A little disappointed with the focal length (I wanted…

Pros
  • Light coloured Compact, lightweight Portraits indoors and outdoors in the shade, this is his calling ISO 200! in the office at f / 1.8 with a shutter speed of 1 / 30s
Cons
  • Expensive

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It functions perfectly, nothing unusual.

For photographic portraits I do NOT recommend! It seems that according to reviews and at first glance it is normal, but at f1.8-2.5 it is blurry. It pisses me off, to be honest. Because of this lens, I learned the concept of light chromatism, these are unusual HAs in the blur zone that cannot be corrected in post-processing. Because of this same phenomenon, the bokeh is ugly, scaly. I shot it at 2.5-2.8, then the clarity was more or less, but the blur was already small and, moreover…

Pros
  • Focusing Size and weight Beautiful Sharp on f4-f8
Cons
  • Soap up to f2.8 HA is strong at f1.8-2.5 and noticeable even at f4-7 Light chromatism (such ha in the blur zone, green areolas) ! bokeh ugly

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

I am very pleased with the lens. I use it in tandem with the NEX-5n, as a staff member, in my opinion, it is very good. Excellent, solid bokeh. Most pleasing is that the sharpness and detail at the edges is almost, if not the same as in the center of the frame. The price, most likely, would be attributed to the shortcomings if I bought in the 2022. And here, for some reason, they are not in a hurry to sell it, which is a bit strange.

Pros
  • ApertureStabilizerSharpness across the entire field of the frameConvenient FRConstruction, appearance
Cons
  • Chromatitis on an open diaphragm

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, happy with it one hundred percent!

Excellent resolution across the frame at a covered aperture. Good bokeh. The drawing is pleasant. Fast focus. Stabilizer. Convenient size. Yes, there is a certain amount of XA, but they quite successfully choke on cameras when shooting in JPEG, this does not bother me personally. As for the price - against the background of the price of Zeiss 24 / 1.8 or 16-70 / 4, the price of this lens seems to be very justified.

Pros
  • In my opinion - the best lens in the crop E-mount system.
Cons
  • Instability during production, sometimes there are kosyachny copies.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best I have ever used, great product for anyone!

Here they wrote about some kind of "wild chromatism". They must have been badly built. Something, but the chromaticity here is quite moderate (I always shoot in RAW). In general, the difficulty of writing a review for this device is the search for flaws. Objectively, there are almost none. Subjectively, for example, I would like a staffer a little wider (mm 28-31), maybe a little more raisins in the bokeh. But, in fairness - a very successful universal lens.

Pros
  • High resolution, uniform across the frame. Low chromatic aberration. Good work with backlight. Effective stabilizer (at 1/15 .1/30 you can easily get sharp handheld shots). Fast accurate autofocus. Nice drawing out of the sharpness zone. Small weight. Metal case outside. M49 filter thread (small filters).
Cons
  • On trifles - the stabilizer makes a quiet noise during operation (reducing the already short life of the mirrorless battery). Vignetting in the open is too big.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not all that bad, but there are minuses.

The lens is not worth the money. Disappointed very much. Unacceptable aberrations of all colors are not completely removed by software. Green snow, multi-colored text and other pleasures. The bokeh is no better than that of the whale (16-50). Boring, not artistic. Bought in order to make Sony a6000 at least approximate quality to the mirror. It didn't work out. I’ll go take it while it’s under warranty or change it to 50 mm if it’s better .

Pros
  • Light, sharp, small, fast
Cons
  • Wild HA, bokeh, price

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is okay, it's not a waste of money!

I took for nex 6 in addition to the whale 16-50, to work in the conv. low light and portrait photography. In my opinion, these tasks are quite fulfills. The universal option, of course, cannot be perfect in everything - the angle in the room is a bit small. Working at small apertures is complicated by the complexity of focusing - I almost missed everything in soap (depth of field from a distance of 5-10 centimeters)

Pros
  • the combination of aperture and stub allows you to shoot without a flash indoors (iso 200-400) and even at night on the street (enough iso 800 lights), good bokeh.
Cons
  • the cons are all insignificant - noticeable vignetting at 1.8, I would like the size to be even smaller, lack of phase focusing (probably temporarily), price

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

I think that in order to get good shots that you and your friends like, you just need to experiment more and buy a good fix. I wanted to buy a DSLR, but for an amateur like me, it's a problem to carry around because of the weight. And here you can get shots no worse and even better than on an amateur DSLR with their whale zoom in the kit, so why should I carry a big camera on vacation when I have a compact one with good optics.

Pros
  • I'm far from being a pro or even a semi-pro, but I didn't even think my Sony Nex 5 could take such cool pictures. I came to buy a fifty-fifty fix, and when testing in a store, I settled on this lens. If you are still shooting with a whale zoom lens and think that you get good photos, you are mistaken. Really cool sharp ones are obtained only on fixes. And this fix is not just good, it's super. Your Nex compact camera can give you so much more fun with this lens. I like to shoot portraits with them, it blurs the background very well. Using the artistic shooting modes on the Nex-5 and this lens, I get very interesting shots.
Cons
  • I have to run around the one I'm shooting, still a fix.

The best general purpose prime lens to stay on

This lens will stay attached to my camera forever until I need a telephoto zoom. It goes well with the Sony A6000 and is a lot better than any kit lens if you're willing to work with a fixed focal length. It's not the widest and maybe a turn off for those who want it for the scenery in the shortest amount of time. But it will do in a pinch, especially if my manual focus pancake lens is left at home. If I don't want to go out with all my gear, this crop sensor lens is so close to walking around…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Get the effect you don't want when editing

Access to a larger aperture and faster lens is a game changer. I can get a lot more bokeh because I have access to a shallower depth of field. This prime lens is also much sharper than the 35mm wide angle kit lens. I've never tried to simulate bokeh in post, but now I know I probably never will. Nikon and Canon have been in the lens game for a while, but Sony has really stepped up their game lately. And you get a lot better use of Sony's autofocus than you can with a third-party lens. I plan to

Pros
  • Camera Lenses
Cons
  • Power outlet required
