Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

Pros below: Execution quality. Equipment: carrying case, hood. Very sharp. Aperture. Sharp already from aperture 2.8. Color rendition. Works great with backlight. Has some cons PRICE. I would like a little cheaper, but this is nitpicking.

Great value for money, one of the best offers.

With its pros. A very beautiful lens, I use it as the main portrait lens, it brilliantly holds backlight, fast, convenient switching to manual focus by shifting the ring. Its cons: the price, I would like it to be cheaper, for this money you can consider 2 lenses - 85 1.8 + Tamron 28-75 and the starter kit is ready.

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

I use it almost exclusively for macro photography. Naturally, without additional light, it is difficult to get ringing sharpness! Before Sony, I sat on a Canon with a 100 mm f2,8 EF lens with a Canon bilateral flash, then for some time I used a 100mm macro Elk from Canon! After switching to the Sony system, I was puzzled by the macro kit for shooting, on the recommendation I took this lens, I use it with Sony's bilateral original flash on the first generation A7! The result exceeds all…

Pros
  • - Sharpness!
Cons
  • Decent weight and size.

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

I shoot on R4, before that I worked with R3 Initially I took it for macro. Really interesting. But one day it happened that I went on a trip and left all my lenses at home (a large set of GM lenses), and this lens was on the camera. As a result, I shot it all the way. Upon returning home, I noticed that all other lenses began to become covered with dust (in a figurative sense). In short, this lens has become my favorite. Both for portraits and for street. But most of all he revealed himself in…

The product is really good, I'm glad I bought it.

When buying, you need to clearly understand - you pay 80-110 thousand for a specific macro lens. Using it as a "regular" portrait lens is complete nonsense. For this there are: Sigma 56mm Contemporary, Sonya 55mm, Sigma Art, more expensive Sonya, etc. etc. It all depends on the wallet. But this glass is a 90mm macro glass with practically no autofocus and only for a certain range of tasks. If you already have “standard” glasses for landscapes, portraits, widths, but you have an extra plus or…

Pros
  • A high-quality, branded Sonyevsky, but a very, very specific and narrowly focused product. Branded Macro lens from Aunt. Still, whatever you say, but just as Microsoft leaves its secret back-door chips for its proprietary programs, so Sony's branded lenses "better than all other third-party" ones are screwed onto Sony's cameras. Fact. And this glass is a proprietary macro lens for Sony cameras. Sharp - yes, very.
Cons
  • Heavy. Very shallow depth of field. Well, it's just very small. Kick-Ass, like a little. Straight, Kick-Kick. The much-praised super-feature of switching AF/MF by shifting the ring on the tube is complete rubbish in practical life . It would be better to add another regular switch at the end of the tube, as well as turning off and on OSS and focus range. And now everything is in order . Heavy - yes. Combined with the fact that it has a very shallow depth of field and to pull it out it is necessary to cover the aperture to 8, 11, 16 or even 22 - it takes a lot of light to stay at such a focal length (90mm) at an acceptable shutter speed to ensure sharpness. . As a fact - even with OSS it is almost unrealistic to take it off your hands. So. He needs a lot of light. As a rule, this is leveled with a tripod. This is not f1.4 for you . If you shoot some flower on the windowsill at f2.8 at home, then the stamen will be in focus, and its base will already go almost into bokeh . Turn the aperture up to 16 - the result is slightly better , but the whole flower still does not fit into the flu . As a result, a tripod, add. light, aperture 16 and other delights . He also makes noise. As soon as it was wound up and turned on the fotik. Autofocus noise starts, it's really annoying. It's like a motorcycle inside accelerates and tries to start abruptly from a traffic light. Not as much, of course, as a motorcycle at a traffic light, but at one moment you realize that this lens jester is starting to strain you. And most importantly - autofocus. Rather, so - AUTOFOCUS - SUCKS ! We can say that it has practically no autofocus. This is a lens with manual focus and with a formal non-working autofocus option. If it's a little dark (and it's always like that for him - it's always dark), damn it, he will focus on you. Doesn't focus at all. Or it will focus, but float. Or not focused. Or it will focus, but then it will float, then it will focus again, but it will float again. In the end, yes - you understand - autofocus in it is complete guano. You will have to use manual autofocus.

Ultra sharp, focusing under a headlamp is unstable

Super sharp and great for those who prefer to focus manually most of the time. I bought it primarily to photograph reptiles on the southwestern desert roads. I used a Canon 100mm IS macro for this purpose, but I read about the sharpness and decided to give it a try. I focus on fast moving snakes and other small snakes with a very bright headlamp, usually with spot AF, always with a flash. With Canon, focusing was almost instantaneous - important because the damn critters wouldn't stay in place…

Pros

Cons

Huge disappointment

I don't want you to think that this 90mm lens is bad. The thing is, I've heard rave reviews about it on the internet. My rating is absolutely bad due to the condition and non-working nature of the item. Came very simply packed. Sony box in the box. No added security, which is odd considering there's a lot going on inside and it's just glass in a case with a few knobs, switches, etc. The first flag was when the product was opened with the sensor cover already removed. In fact, it was even close.

  • Camera and photo

Bright, sharp contrast lenses. Auto focus is sometimes a problem

I was looking for a lens for my A6000 that would take great macro shots and also be used as a portrait lens. Let me put it this way: I don't think I could have done any better. The lens is insanely sharp. The details obtained are incredible. I did a 2:1 crop and I had usable images. The bokeh is very beautiful. Up close, even at f16, you get a nice blurred background that just melts away. The colors shine. I'm pretty sure some Minolta magic has been added to this lens because the colors are…
