This is a great little speaker for listening to music, news etc from your phone. The sound quality is outstanding for such a small speaker when listening to music with clear highs and deep bass. It's loud enough to work in the kitchen or in a small home and continue listening without your phone. It was waterproof when we took it fishing. We like it very much.

Good, punchy bass for such a compact device. That's what the owner of significantly more powerful speakers says, I'm actually impressed. Good old-fashioned engineering makes a difference - unlike most other micro devices, Sony has managed to incorporate a passive heatsink that works like a subwoofer to actually reproduce the bass. The lack of these features puts it a league above the competition.

I didn't buy it because I expected the bass to disturb the neighbors or throw a party. I bought this sound which is unheard of for the size, water resistance and USB-C charging. I bought this for my mother (she is 91 years old, she has a smartphone and I recently added a music app for her). I think this Sony XB13 is great for personal use but not if you really need a lot of sound as the negative reviews for this product show.
