Description of SoundGuard Soundproof mat isoCarpet 5000 x 1500 x 15 mm
SoundGuard Cover is a vibration and soundproofing material consisting of mechanically compressed needle-punched fiberglass canvas sealed into a spunbond protective sheath. It is used in rooms of various types and purposes: for soundproofing floors - as an elastic vibration damping pad under the screed; in the design of soundproofing walls and ceilings - as a shock-absorbing and noise-absorbing layer; in interfloor ceilings - to attenuate structural noise.
SoundGuard Cover mats are produced in the form of sheets 1.5 m wide, 5 m long. -100°С to +140°С.
Used for soundproofing in the interfloor overlap. It muffles well the impact noise from steps and not bad speech. In general, I am satisfied with the purchase, soundproofing is at a good level. If there is a need to cut, reinforced tape is ideal for sealing the cut.
Pros
Soundproofing
Cons
the declared width of the canvas is 1.5 meters. Keep in mind that filling with fiberglass inside is 1.4 meters, that is, there is a 5 cm allowance on both sides
The material is better than the competitor, but also more expensive. Marriage comes up. The final characteristics have not yet been evaluated. Harder to cut than competitors. But the mat itself is heavier, thicker and clearly better in properties.
Pros
Dense. Quality fabric material.
Cons
Lots of unfinished mats. There is no filler around the edges. Which drastically increases the cost.
I had a problem: a very noisy sewer riser (and even with a turn) in an apartment on the 1st floor of a five-story building. Replacing the pipe with a silent Politologist and pasting it with automotive bitumen insulation helped with impact noise, but from the sound of the murmur of a "mountain stream" I used this mat in one thickness on a straight section and two on bends. Now the toilet is quiet and calm, well, except for those moments when the neighbors wash off the gravel. Next I plan to make
Pros
Really muffles the sound
Cons
Filler padding not to the full width of the protective cover
Pros below:
I did the wall and ceiling, there really is an effect, the sound becomes booming from the neighbors
Has some cons:
If cut, it frays a lot, when drilling with a puncher, it winds onto the drill
