Spalding Lay-Up Mini 22-Inch Outdoor Basketball Review

After building a 7ft basketball hoop for my grandson we tried different types of balls including an old soccer ball. This is his favorite. It just has the right combination of size, weight, rebound and grip. We also tried a plastic ball from a dime store, but it's so light it's harder to control than a Spalding. This ball hits the point.

The ball is small. but it's just the right size for a six year old boy. (See image with his arm for size comparison.) We purchased this with the Lifetime Youth Portable Basketball System. Lifetime 90022 Height Adjustable Youth Portable Basketball System Arrives empty but has not leaked after 3 months of playing with it. The colors are bright.

I have a couple of little kids and we introduce them to different sports to see what interests them. These little basketballs are great because they look and feel a bit like the "real" thing, but in a smaller and lighter size. It's fun to practice both dribbling and shooting with this size as it would be frustrating trying to do it with a standard sized ball.

I have two boys. Each of them has their favorite color and I gave each of them a ball. I had to replace the red/yellow balloon because it was somehow deflating. I don't care because he's been played with. I bought my son a new red and yellow ball - it still won't inflate. No visible or audible signs of a problem, just a little leaking. Do not buy this color!

My 18 month old daughter has been obsessed with balloons since she was at least a year old. She can also tell it apart from a soccer ball, tennis ball, etc., so when I tried to satisfy her craving for a "ball" nothing like that happened ;-) She likes it. We fed him for several days and on several occasions he was her bed companion. Came inflated - as in the photo/description. A little big for her, but she's a giant, so she's growing up fast. It costs $10 total.
