I used this to cover a MOPAR cleanable air filter that was attacked by mice, yes mice that ate the filter material. Since I removed that cap, rodents have stopped chewing on my expensive filter.

This is a pretty decent size, I use it on a 7" K&N cone filter with a 3" inlet and it has some slack I was able to roll up in the base of the filter and it looks off and works just as well. as well as all pre-filters, which are almost twice as expensive.

If you are looking for a larger universal air intake cover then here it is. It has to be a little bigger, but it works. As for performance and durability, let's see how they fare in the Texas summer heat. By the way, I use a Red Rock 4x4 intake for my 2014 Jeep Wrangler.

I just found out about these "temporary" cases and I don't understand why I've never bought them before. I clean and oil my aFe CAI permanent filter every 6 months. But if this case can filter out all those huge chunks of dirt, bugs and debris it will greatly help my filter last a lot longer. Some claim that this filter can help keep water out of the air intake. No it's not, but I don't get in 4ft of water often. (Buy the right hose!) But as a pre-filter to protect my oily filter, it's perfect.
