Stop wondering where the leak is!

I used this to find a coolant leak on my 2002 Ford Super Duty. I have not encountered any cooling issues with this in the coolant. After fixing the leak, I flushed the cooling system and filled with new coolant.

Pros
  • Many will fit
Cons
  • Empty

Works great, be careful with the dosage.

After using this product I was able to locate a coolant leak on my Kawasaki V Twin very easily. However, I probably used too much, even after flushing the coolant there was still a lot of paint in the wheel.

Pros
  • Easy Setup
Cons
  • No Instructions

Peace of Mind: Air Conditioning Tools & Gear

I bought a 4runner with 250,000 miles and decided for my peace of mind to ride it. It works incredibly well and I have 5 more bottles to use in the future or in friends' cars. There is also a cheap UV flash from Revain. Better deal than local and I was still struggling to find anything local that didn't just mention Dexron. BTW, no leaks from the truck :)

Pros
  • Pretty Packaging
Cons
  • Sad Gear

Nothing to say - added to the cooling system.

Nothing to say - added to the cooling system - used half a bottle per system and black light to trace the leak. Used as a preventative product or to track down known issues, this works well. When topping up the system, be sure to bleed the air and heat the system to the correct level before adding, otherwise you'll have glowing marks later that can cause confusion.

Pros
  • Complete kit
Cons
  • Legacy model

Unbelievable - these things are bright!

I drive a Ford Crown Victoria and there was a small coolant leak in the car that I couldn't find. I added this to the tank and rode it one day, and the next night I went out with a UV light to find the obvious leak. There was a microcrack in the intake manifold, which expanded so far when hot that coolant could drain out. This dye is bright. The dye is also visible in daylight without using a UV lamp. Great things will continue to be used in the future

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Almost never

quality goods! By the way on Air Conditioning Tools & Equipment

This thing really hangs around! I used a whole bottle to make sure the Subaru Forester's radiator was leaking through the tank's top gasket and it worked great. Also used to check for a head gasket issue on an Infinity G35 - over pressure throughout the cooling system (fogging at EVERY hose connection). I replaced the radiator and thermostat on a Subaru and there was still plenty of punch in the system even after topping off a gallon or two. . Excellent material! BTW, I wouldn't recommend NOT…

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Mystery Leak Found

I had a mysterious coolant leak on my car that was using a liter of antifreeze per week. I smelled antifreeze but couldn't detect any leaks. I added a bottle of this dye and used one of the UV flashlights I bought from Revain. I found the leak in seconds (intake manifold to plug the leak - the antifreeze would evaporate before reaching the bottom of the engine). It definitely works. I recommend doing this at night or in a very dark place as the leak will appear as a bright green/yellow light.

Pros
  • Rapid Replacement
Cons
  • Replacement Availability

Engine coolant glows in ultraviolet light!

One bottle is enough for most car engines. The engine coolant glows bright yellow (opaque) when using a UV flash. I have a 365nm LED that I bought for about $33. The best time to find a leak is when it's pitch dark outside. My problem was that the coolant leaked out very slowly over 2 weeks and only when the engine coolant was at or above operating temp (probably when the thermostat opened). .I was able to find the leak very accurately and quickly. I also have 5 bottles left.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
