Either poor quality control or size changed

I have worn Sperry Hampden Venetian Loafers for a number of years and I'm sorry to report that something has changed about these shoes. This would be my third pair, I ordered my normal size and the tag is still the same but the rubber sole is about an inch shorter than the shoes they replace and they fit a half to full size. fewer. The insole doesn't feel as soft and cloudy as it used to, but it's hard to tell since the whole shoe is too narrow. My last pair of these Sperrys only lasted about 9

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • No uniform required

Comfortable but poor quality

Comfortable shoes but the leather is of very cheap quality and has disintegrated a lot in recent months. The shoes look so bad I just threw them away. If you like comfortable slippers, you'll love these, but don't expect them to last. I will next time buy Allen Edmonds moccasins or other loafers as I expect the shoes to last AT LEAST a year.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent

Not quality Sperry Gold Cup line

This purchase was to replace a pair of Sperry Gold Cup drivers that were almost worn out. These Hampden Venetian slip-on loafers look almost exactly like my drivers; But as soon as they arrived I realized that they were far from being shoes of the same quality. They are not comfortable and appear poorly tailored. Also, my original Sperry Gold Cup riders were 12 million. They're 120 million tall. The padding on the rearfoot and sides is about 1/4 the thickness of my Gold Cup riders. Padding…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • So far so good

I buy shoes about 19 times over the years; basically the color of amaretto. I wear that every day. I am very disappointed that the quality has gone down because these are really very comfortable shoes. It won't stand you. They last a few months before the sole on the back peels off, the color fades. I have a sedentary job so I don't walk much. When I got my last pair I did a test by crumpling the shoes a bit and the color immediately formed a line where it was crumpled. Not only is this last…

Like a walk in the air

Bought these shoes to replace a more expensive pair from a "famous" brand. They are 10 times more comfortable and it's like walking on air. You look great. I used to buy Sperry boat shoes but it was only recently that I bought boots and then these. i am sold They make high quality shoes. If in doubt about the size, take a half size down as they don't have laces and will loosen over time. I usually wear an 8.5 but these lasted 8. A little comfortable now, but that's ok.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sneakers

Walking on Clouds in Shoes

We bought four pairs of harnesses to find the one that fits my husband best. He had several bouts of gout and wanted very comfortable shoes for driving in the summer. He tested them blindly, with no regard for aesthetics or price. The Hampden Venetian Sperry men's loafers are the clear winner. Although Sperry's golden goblet looked significantly better, it snuggled snugly against the balls of his feet. He is very pleased with these Sperry Men's Hampden Venetian Slip-On Moccasins as they fit…

Like the looks, not the durability

Shame on me first. I have pair number 4. They are so comfortable and easy to put on and take off. They look great with casual or classic shorts, as well as casual trousers or jeans. My only issue with them, and I don't feel I need to say that about Sperry shoes, is that after a few wears they just fall apart at the seams. I do not know what that is. I have at least 5 other styles of her pumps and loafers. I have a normal stride (heel to toe, no pronation or supination) and only weigh 215 pounds

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • No insurance

Great shoes in loafers and slippers

These shoes don't have arch support, but they don't need it. My husband had Merrell Rally Moc shoes and loved them but they were discontinued in black and he really wanted black shoes. They are very similar and just as comfortable. You can flex the sole easily and they are very light. In sneakers, the innovation is having a shoe that has a difference between the heel and toe height of 0 millimeters and this is a version of the classic shoe. They are as close as you can get in dress shoes to…

These are damn comfortable shoes

I like them. I feel like I'm walking on clouds. In general, they look decent. I've been buying Sperry shoes for at least 10 years. I'm a size 11 and the fit has always been correct in my opinion, except I think one shoe I bought was more of a sneaker. Moccasins and boots have always been on top for me. From my own experience, I can say that Sperry is keeping up well. I've only had these shoes for about a week so it's obviously too early to comment on that aspect --- but I had a pair once that…
