This one works. Electrical

Thing works so well. I tried to buy other testers but ended up wasting time and money. This is very easy to use and works great. This Ethernet tester is the "real McCoy". In the future I will only order them for my technicians.

Aesome Tool Best in Electrical

Very easy to use cable tester. I had a problem with my cable and using this little easy to read device I was able to isolate the problem which made the solution much easier. It's not the fanciest tester, but it's a great product for the do-it-yourselfer and doesn't need all the bells and whistles of expensive testers. It has an easy-to-read LED display and checks the Ethernet cable for wires,

I thought it was a newer model!

I use a Sperry cable tester every day and needed a backup in case one of my other Sperry testers should fail. One of the main differences with this model and the other model is the fact that when tested, the lights come on too quickly and stay much shorter, requiring you to watch all four pairs, two or three, being tested. times to ensure all four pairs are properly lit and solid green.

  • Sleek design

  • Something different

Works perfectly. on tester

We were renovating our house so I did 12 cat 6 runs around the house and some to 100 feet. After crimping the RJ45 I used Sperry testers to check the wiring and they worked great. I only had 1 failed run found by the Sperry tester. I had 1 brown wire that turned out to be a bit short so the Sperry tester showed poor contact on LED 7-8. It worked exactly as advertised. I tested it on a couple of coax runs and it worked there too. Definitely worth your money.

The main block dies after only 3 uses.

Purchased January 2019. Used to test coaxial cable for home TV antennas. The device worked great. About a year later I used this device to test Cat6 cables for my home network. The device worked great. At the end of March 2020 I used this device to test additional home network cables and the main device did not turn on. I changed the batteries and tried 6 different batteries but the main unit would not turn on. This is a pretty basic device that stops working after 2 times. I thought Sperry was

A simple but useful tool in your toolbox!

Useful when you want to know if a cable has a bad connection or is still good! However, it will not tell you the resistance through the cable. Display only in LEDs. Another useful situation is when you're looking at a group of unlabeled cables and don't know which cable goes where. You plug the transmitter part of the device into the end of the cable in the target room. Then check each cable at the end of the cluster for output from the transmitter. Durability: Looks like it can withstand being

Good compact easy to use device but terrible battery access.

Works well so far and does the job. I would rate it higher but I hate the way they made the batteries. There are only batteries on one side, both sides should take batteries, but that's not my problem, I opened the smaller side (it's not the side that takes batteries). This side opens easily and on the other side, however, the screws are so deep and small that finding a screwdriver to get at them was a challenge. Luckily my wife had an eye kit with a tiny long screwdriver that fit under the…

Great packaging, limited functionality.

I wasn't planning on writing a review for this cable tester, but the packaging was a lot better than its cheaper competitors. I had to post pictures. Other cable testers I've bought here at Revain came in a zippered pouch. To make matters worse, they come in a padded case that offers no protection for sockets or protruding ports. The Sperry Cable Tester is packaged in a blister pack, so it can even withstand being shipped in an envelope. I did a quick test with the included cables and…
