Good Things: Sport Water Bottles

Glad to find them. I didn't know it existed until my friend told me about it. They work really well to prevent water from spilling out of my 5 gallon buckets when I'm transporting water. They also help my water dispenser fit better in 5 gallon buckets. Really good product and easy to use.

  • Quality construction

  • Little Things

Fits 5 gallon bottles unlike other designs, holds tight but still peels off

Slightly larger than other brands of caps I've tried and the plastic seems a bit more flexible so it does fits well, but at the same time fix securely. Before applying, you need to cut off the neck (easier with scissors than with your hands), but this should not affect functionality, you do not need a neck to hold the cap.

Place the reusable lid upside down in hot water

I once realized I could put a glass measuring cup of very hot water in the kitchen sink and walk away leaving an empty pitcher in it upside down. I'll come back in 5-8 minutes and remove the warm lid. Sometimes I have to use a table knife to get started, but it's not difficult. I put my clean lids in my zip bag to travel with me when I fill my jugs with water.

No leaks for us! on Sports Water Bottles

These lids were purchased for 5 gallon water jugs. We have Primo and Arrowhead water jugs. No leaks, no problem. Hats fit well and snugly. If you place them as is, they will be difficult to remove. I recommend making a cut along the edge before donning. When ready to use the jug, slowly pry it away from the cut as you would any other lid. See photos. I haven't used a stretcher so I can't comment on ergonomics, material strength or design.

Not that reusable. for sports drinking bottles

They are not reusable. You can easily replace the lid of one of your jugs with these, but it's impossible to reuse them outside of it. The tabs on the outer fork are attached with plastic tabs so thin that you'll destroy all but the largest if you remove them the first time. The inner plug is for single use only and the outer plug itself is not waterproof. There is no way to seal the interior without removing (destroying) the caps. The hole is too small to fill with water at a reasonable rate…

We're getting closer. Keep improving. Thank you!

I'm glad someone is trying to solve the problem the industry caused when they replaced water bottle caps which meant we had to return bottles instead of refilling them. While not as good as the caps the bottles used to come with, they are closer than other options I've seen. When the main cap is on the bottle I couldn't remove it without damaging it. The ring that is supposed to remove the plug in the lid broke immediately, but I was able to pull it out with my thumbnail. The water dispenser…

Caps work well with 5 gallon Arrowhead bottles BUT.

We use Arrowhead 5 gallon water bottles with handles on the main bottle. These caps fit when you press them. very tight, but you can never pull them off or cut them off without major problems if you just do it. Raised up to about a quarter of an inch they slide firmly in and out of the bottle neck, the caps still stay in place and seal reasonably well. with the caps cut off it turned out to work fine, for our situation it's not ideal. The plastic on these caps appears to be very durable, even…

Love them although they are not perfect

We have been using them for over a year now. Probably five gas stations of that before we ran into a problem. Once they are on, it will be difficult to take them off until you figure out how to take them off. We usually turn them upside down and put them in a coffee cup with hot water. Let sit for a few minutes, then use a butter knife to scoop under the rim, push up to the top of the lid, and turn inside out while pushing the lid off the jug. We're good enough that we don't use hot water every
