I ordered black laces and when I finished lacing the wax turned them gray instead of black. The photo is a comparison between what it looks like out of the box and what it looks like after you lace up your skates.

To be waxed. See the white stripes on the laces? That's all the wax on the top. With equal success, they may not have wax on it. I would throw them in the trash immediately if I didn't need them today.

I wouldn't recommend this has to be one of the worst A&R products, after half lacing my son's skates my shorts and arms were covered in splinters of wax. I have bought other A&R brands and they are better than this one. Took 1 day before I said enough was enough.

Lace Waxiness I'd say average. One feature I noticed about the laces was that the ends weren't fully closed but were milled into a "C" shape. After about 5 uses, the tip of a tip wears out a bit in my opinion. This does not bode well for the durability of these laces. But they are waxed and working until further notice. Unfortunately, I probably won't buy it again.
