This kit was recommended to me by a close friend in HVAC. The wood/metal stick broke on first use in softwood. So after the first use, a job that I couldn't do at all because of the shaft, it is completely useless for anything other than masonry. I'm pretty sure Spyder can use better materials and a much better industrial design for the price.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

  • Not sure

Great tool! - Power tool parts and accessories

I'm installing a new toilet and sink in the laundry room to make a utility/semi-bathroom. I had to cut holes for the 3" pipe as well as the waterline and sink drain. Looking for tools for the job, I found Spyder and his set of carbide hole saws. This set is great. The house is old and has several layers on the floor. This tool cuts through ceramic tile, fiberboard, 2ply wood and old vinyl. Ceramic instrument few patients Slightly different material was a no-brainer for this instrument. I am…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

These things are great!

Did a test run with only the smallest 2X4 hole saw, it has a carbide tooth! didn't look like it could work, worked great, cut fast and a wide piece of wood and left enough room for easy core removal which this tool was designed for. I have several other hole saws, bi-metal and a few other types for wood. This is by far the quickest and easiest way to drill a hole and release the core, not for precision drilling in wood but for cutting a fairly clean hole for construction purposes, good thing it

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
