Type of review

I bought these for edge reprofiling but found the triangles didn't work well with more expensive steels like ELMAX and M390. This is normal with softer steels. Over time I found that the abrasiveness of these triangles was greatly reduced as the cube drill was rubbed off the primer. I took great care not to apply pressure when sharpening, understanding that the bond of cubic boron nitride to the triangle is brittle at best, but even with extreme care and very careful use, the triangle will not…

Cubic Boron Nitride as specified here is an abrasive almost as good as diamond. It is mainly preferred for high-speed machining because when hot, the diamond's carbon can diffuse into the steel and alter its quality. So why use it here?
