Smooth pens <3 love them

This is my favorite pen set. try caran dache. Faber Castell pencils are all good. But this set is the best for me, they go well together, good for detail and everything, I just wish there were 7b-8b pencils in the set. I will definitely buy them soon Cheap price for such wonderful pens <3 Highly recommend

Pros
  • nice stuff

Great price for a great set of graphite pencils.

I mainly work with colored pencils in the pet/wildlife area. I wanted to improve my graphite work as well as the human form. So I started this graphite drawing with Derwent graphite and wasn't happy because they were scratchy. Seemed to run into tiny difficult things while painting/shading. Someone suggested these Staedtlers and they are great. Was able to finish my drawing without annoying scratches.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Very expensive

Mars Lumograph are premium artists' pencils.

Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to art supplies. If you ask, you'll find that Mars Lumograph graphite pencils have many loyal fans. Very high quality - German precision and attention to detail. Leads are smooth with no rough/scratchy little surprises on the fretboard like some pencils can. The included metal storage case is very handy, especially for protection on the go. This set of 12 pencils contains a very useful range of lead densities from harder to softer.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Low repairability

Why did they come in a bag and not a tin can?

STAEDTLER pencils are my favorite drawing pencils and as an art student I come across them often. However, I was very disappointed when I opened my box at the post office and saw that they were not in a tin but in a bag. This annoys me as 1) they don't really seem to care about their product and 2) I don't know how much they got shaken up here during shipping. They also came in a big box because I bought them with other school supplies. It just annoys me. I want new pencils with nice sharp…

Excellent quality pencils

Excellent quality pencils with their own advantages and disadvantages. Use it when you want to create clean, consistent lines that you are confident in. Because it's mixed with carbon and not pure graphite, it doesn't have the shine that normal graphite pencils get when you shine light directly on it. But also because of the charcoal, the pencil is a bit harder to erase than normal graphite pencils. Using an eraser on darker pencils can smudge rather than erase completely, so use caution. I…

Not as excited as I thought

I have Mars Black and they are smoother but sometimes black doesn't pair well with lighter varieties. So I thought I'd take the time to try them out. Some of the pens in the set don't sharpen well. It's frustrating that they keep breaking before you even start using them. I've tried different sharpeners and it made no difference. Second, some pencils actually smell bad when sharpened. I love pencils and have many brands so I was a bit surprised by the wood smell. A few pencils are also prickly…

Mechanical pencil lover until I tried this one.

For many years I drew primarily with mechanical pencils, disliking the lack of a permanently sharp point and hating the scratchy feel of hard wooden graphite pencils. I never thought you would benefit more from a quality wooden pencil than a cheaper pencil. It's just wood and graphite, right? Not really. These pencils are the best. The harder "H" through "H4" are hard to the touch but don't have those pesky, rough patches of clay that suddenly scratch the paper. I've also found that with a…

Staedtler Mars Lumograph VS Tombow Mono

I love both Thombow Mono and Mars Lumograph, you can't go wrong with either set. I used medium-weight 70-pound drawing paper for testing. 3H, 2H, H, HB, FB, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B Tombow Mono come in a plastic case with 12 unsharpened pencils, an eraser and a small Mars Lumograph sharpener, some with 12 pre-sharpened pencils in a beautiful Tombow Mono -Metal tin case with hexagonal body, slightly larger than Mars LumogrphMono has pencil grade marked on 4 of 8 sides, Mars Lumograph is marked on all…

Customer Recommended

I wanted to buy a cheaper graphite pencil set. I really had no idea. I did all my drawings with #2 pencils. The customer who gave the excellent rating pointed out the disadvantages of the cheaper product. He actually gave a little lesson on what the numbers and letters on the pens mean. what makes a good pencil, sharpener, etc. What I and many other customers really appreciated was that he also made his suggestions for a good pencil. He recommended the Staedtler Mars Lumograph. He was so…
