We researched and ordered many different types of gates for our stairs and none of them suited our taste. We stumbled across this gate and all I have to say is WOW! Not only is it the security we needed to keep our 2 year old from playing on the stairs, but it's also very nice to look at. Very thick gray fabric. No ugly metal or mesh. Although expensive, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Love how it looks and the seller was great when I had to return it. I would like to support this company more. It was a reliable goal and strong too. However, I didn't find the gate very functional and practical as there isn't a good way to get through it unless you unplug all the clamps. We'd rather have something we don't have to step all the way over - I always trip. We stopped at a gate with a door. If there was a way to make it easier to use I would definitely use it at home.

I like the thick fabric of the collar but I don't like the clasps. If you have rivets, great, but I can't imagine not using rivets to really keep the gate secure. The fasteners are easy, but once the tension puts just over 5 pounds of pressure on them, it's a little risky on the fasteners. It looks like any further tension could just pull the clamps out. Overall I like it, I think it's overpriced but there aren't many great railing solutions for a child/dog gate. What I don't like is that you can't remove the cloth for cleaning without unscrewing the mount. What I like about it is that it can be angled and is very versatile. The slats inside seem to make it strong enough that my 18 month old won't push it down. It doesn't rest against my railing where the tension gates might weaken it. Stable, easy to assemble children's goal with a few defects. Our stair is 48 inches from wall to center rail so I order a large size. Unfortunately, the distance from the wall to the edge of the fabric is 52 inches, so there is a couple of inches of fabric to wrap around the post, but the straps are both attached to the edge of the fabric, so the only way to keep the fabric from unraveling and around twist the pin to make it very tight on the pin.
