Standard Motor Products PS308 Pressure Review

This is the only brand that has worked and/or lasted more than two weeks. I bought this device based on several reviews from different sources and it was worth it. This is the only one I would recommend after numerous failures from other brands including AC Delco.

The price is a bit higher than local parts stores and the quality is the same. This unit is a true B####ka replacement for my '03 GMC 5.3 liter engine. There's no room for a human-sized hand to fit behind the air intake/motor to get there to swap it out. After a lot of swearing and fussing, we finally made it. The oil pressure gauge now shows as it should.

Direct mount and good working replacement for the OEM sensor. However, if you have a commercial or amateur VHF radio transmitter, be aware that you may have problems with RFI. After installing this sensor, my oil pressure reading drops to zero when transmitting wirelessly. It uses 5/8 wave NMO rooftop antenna and 10-50W power in 144-148MHz band. At 5W there is no effect.

. The sensor is made of high quality machined aluminum and fits perfectly into the 1-1/16 sensor well just like the original factory sensor. This corrected the PEGGED 80 PSI reading the car had when the key was turned on. So far this part has been better than the BWD S4202 which some say is perfect. I found that this part doesn't even fit in one of the sensor sockets!

Not exactly the same as OEM but it fits and solves my check engine light problem. Some things to watch out for - you'll probably need a special deep socket to take the old one off and install this one.
