The miter box isn't worth the extra cost

Firstly, it doesn't come with a saw and if you don't already have a 10-15 inch saw, buy the cheaper Stanly that comes with the saw. Useless as a swing below, which I don't know it for, and the pegs are useless. Stanley has a good thing, he has a 22 1/2 degree setting that some people don't have. Make sure this feature is critical.

Pros
  • An Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Expensive

Normal product for the money.

The miter box was too deep and my saw could not cut without a guard. I had to use spacer blocks to raise the wood for cutting. After one use I have already lost a few mm as the saw cut off the sides of the angled slots. It's ok for the money and you'll need clips to secure the box unless you're attaching it to a universal bench. I would rather hand mark the corners and hand cut for less effort. Although the price doesn't bite.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good for a cut here or there.

I bought this to cut some dowels that I needed the edges of. It's ok, but I found it lame. I liked the built in clamp system and the holes in the base for attaching to a workbench. The rear saw slots were a bit wider, so be careful with clean cuts. For the price, if you're using it for general household use, the occasional imprecise cut will do just fine. If you want more accuracy, you can look for another product.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • No

Worked great with hacksaw

I bought this to cut metal parts when installing a shower door. It worked great with one exception. I've used it with a hacksaw and metal blade and it's worn down the plastic to the point where it no longer cuts straight. I had to throw it away after I finished my project. I would still consider getting it again if needed. I really liked the simple clamping system. You twist the black rods to tighten the object in the clamp. Nothing moved when pressed.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

Best Miter Box

The only problem with this miter box is that you should have bought it sooner. I have had an old Stanley miter box for many years. He did his job with some weaknesses. I came across this miter box while looking for ideas on Pinterest and I'm very glad I found it. It was of great importance because of the holes and pins. Once the molding is placed in the cutting box, pins are inserted to stabilize the board. For cutting and it worked great! This held the wood in place for a perfect cut. Best…

Perfect for the weekend warrior!

Worked great! I ordered a miter box to handle some simple repetitive cuts with a matching Stanley backsaw. I don't need a large miter saw so this was my only option. I definitely recommend installing it on a hard surface. Made good straight cuts, ended up using a longer saw for quick cuts instead of a back saw and no problem here either. The clamps worked well, they flexed with curved parts which made me nervous but it was a hard grip. I liked the design of the nock, an ingenious way to hold…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
