Nicely made, a pleasure to use. The divider tips are perfectly aligned and sharp. The nut has the right amount of resistance so it is neither too loose nor too tight. For large adjustments, I hold the nut in my right hand and use my left index finger to spin the entire tool like a propeller. That's 10 times faster than twisting a nut between your fingers.

Precision tool. Use it to draw patterns on roofing felt. I usually set it to the width of the straight edge I'm using and add or subtract the opening I want. everything from linoleum, fiberglass. all panel products, plywood, lumber for stairs. anything cut and outlined along the edge. lays out lines for impossible cuts quickly and accurately.

Paid over 60.00 for a spacer with a fixed nut. Arrived in a worn box, the divider is only in a plastic bag, the metal on the divider's legs is not polished or machined and one of them is oxidized as shown in the photo. I'm used to Starrett looking like a work of art when it's delivered. Of course, now that's not the quality of their products. Just awful.
