Great mount for Medicore 80mm fan SSD.

Great SSD mount for cases that don't have room for 2.5" drives but have lots of 5.25" drive bays. The included fan is WEAK combined with the way the dust filter is installed resulting in almost no airflow. Replace the filter with a thinner one and put in a decent RPM and quality 80mm fan that has decent pressure and airflow. So keep in mind that the fan in it is not very good. MANY other options for installing 2.5" drives into 5.25" drive bays. Star-tech isn't very cool of you for skimping on…

Fits perfect, holes match, looks good

When I decided to upgrade the 2 port USB drive on the front of the box I thought I had a 3.5 inch drive replaced. But it was actually a 5.25" drive in disguise, so the new drive wouldn't fit without an adapter. This was delivered the next day for about the price of a hamburger. It's plastic, but pretty much everything these days. It has a kind of uneven textured matte finish and applies well. It has the standard three holes on the sides, although you only need two. My new drive fit easily into…

5-1/4 " to 3.5 " Hard Drive Adapter Overview

The rating of these products is meaningless because it covers multiple products. This review is for a 5-1/4" to 3.5" Hard Drive Adapter. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I don't want the higher rating to be inappropriately applied to other items in this multiple product listing. Suitable for Seagate ST4000 4TB model. Suitable for all modern 3.5 inch hard drives as there are several mounting positions. Screws are present - 4 with fine and 4 with coarse thread. Previously, hard-drive screws…

5-1/4 " to 3.5 " Hard Drive Adapter Review

, I just wanted to give my own review; because I disagree with some others who claim to know the "right" way of setting this up. It seems to me that they are using the wrong holes; but it's also possible that they use a different type of computer, so here's my take. I am setting up RAID1 on an HP Z220 Slim form factor; So it's a bit older, but I can't waste the wonderful Xeon processor because these business workstations are cheap and make a great HTPC with a flat Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 OC…

  • Not cheap but decent

  • As for the old

Cheap, works and here's how to install it

I'll save you some time and possibly trouble here as there are no instructions. I notice that a number of comments and questions relate to the installation process. Before you begin, prepare a Phillips #2 magnetic screwdriver. There are TWO different types of screws in the package. M3 (fine thread) and 6-32 UNC (larger thread). They are similar but they are not. The M3 screws go into the drive, the UNC screws into the bracket. Separate them first (you may need a magnifying glass). (FACTOID…

PROS:* Affordable and well built* Plastic construction feels strong yet flexible* Thick enough to not easy to break, but all my screws that I had fitted well. * Had all the holes where I needed them which is always a plus * Comes with four mounting screws to attach the adapter to your case. (They provide the screws needed to attach the drive or other device to the adapter. These mounting screws are typically included with your drive, front panel hub, card reader, or whatever you are…
